If the squeaking has been going on for only a short time, you may be able to get by with only replacing the rear drum bearing, but if it has been going on for some time you should replace the drum bearing kit part # WE25M40. Also be sure to check that the front drum slides are ok, especially the one on the left side of the front drum support, as this one wears out faster. Drum slides #
WE1M481 and
WE1M333 and if front support frame is worn so that there is nothing left to hook the slides into you would need a
WE3M26.

Mod # DPSR473EWOWW There does not seem to be an actual bearing back here. But I do notice there seems to be a Teflon like sleeve that seems damaged and needs replacing. I would think that would take care...

that's it but when you order the part you get everything,if you look inside the drum you'll see three screws, you remove the screws and pull off the shaft and bracket assy. then you get the sleeve bearing and the rear retainer bearing and the strap arm and all new screws, part number WE25M40 and it's around 40 to 50 dollars..copy and paste http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOx-tLgq67Q

I have a GE DPSR473EWOWW Electric dryer that has great ventilation pressure and heat is at 135-140 on cotton regular heat settng. The timer portion (20, 30, 40, minutes setting) works fine, but if you put...

Hey richn14, I have a dryer idnetical to yours and bought it from one of my friends, and the guy that owned it before them was/ is a total idiot ( i know him, unfortunatly) and have had to do quite a bit of wrok to my dryer. What im thinking it is, is a loose connection on the timer, ive dealt with that or the timer itself is bad/going bad. When I was working on my dryer I was amazed at all the electrical connections on the timer, and the connections on the motor, well, blew my mind. If you are going to check this out yourself and need to know how to take any part of the dryer apart let me know and ill post it on here or can email you, either one.

GE Profile dpsr473ewoww timer doesn't work and heat level is low

We should address the heat problem first. If your dryer complaint is "heat seems low" or taking "too long to heat", this is commonly confused for other problems. When in fact, you may really have a "ventillation problem". Do you feel (with hand) alot of hot air pressure coming out the back of the dryer or house vent-line (for dryer)?

I would disconnect and clean the dryer exhaust vent/duct (at wall and machine). Then, while leaving the vent-line disconnected temporaily, test and run your dryer. You may see an signficant improvement.

Does it heat up better?
Do you feel alot of hot air and pressure coming out the back of the dryer?
When connected; do you feel alot of hot air pressure coming out of your house dryer vent?
