Question about Computers & Internet
I am relocating to another property. I currently have two services with mZgic jack and recently upgraded to windows 8.1. I like the idea of connecting without computer but the problem is I'm in the basement and the router/cable modem is on the main level. Looks like I would probably would need a 100 foot telephone cord for my phone in the basement which would be almost impossible due to a finished basement, so makes sense to use my computer but only two usb ports and they are both in use. I do have usb hub and know I could use that but I do not want the page to pop up on my computer, especially with two lines. I also need to know if I need to reactiovate since I have moved. I am also considering to add a third magic jack for the homeowner in the near future.

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Try to setup a wirless network thru xp sp2 in the control panel.
Make sure you use the mac id from your router as the password.
Only enable one.

First plug your router directly into your computer via the ethernet cable that came with the router. You'll want to connect the cable to the port on the router that says "Internet" (it's ussally to the far left when looking at the back of the router) make sure the other end is plugged into your computer's Network Interface Card (NIC).
Plug your computer into the modem via the UBS connection.
Insert the setup cd that came with the router and follow the prompts.
Once configured then unplug the ethernet cable from your computer and plug it into the modem (which should have an ethernet (RJ-45) jack as well as a USB.
Now you can either hook up to the wireless connection using a wireless adapter OR you can plug your computer in with a ethernet cable to one of the outgoing ports on the back of the router.

After 2 days of frustration I was able to solve this by the following:
1. Click Start
2. right click my computer and select properties
3. select hardware then Device Manger
4. click + DVD/CD-ROM Drives
5. right click Tiger Jet CD-ROM USB Drive then Uninstall
6. unplug Magic Jack wait 15 secs
7. Plug back in and let device re-install, MJ may start here, if not...
8. Click Magic Jack Icon, program should start
I have to do this everytime I unplug or restart my computer. I don't know exactly why it hangs like this but this procedure works for me everytime. Good Luck
