Try it at about 10 am when there is a lot of noise on the air and see if you can hear anything.

What might make a preamp in a reciever just stop working?

If when you switch to the main amp you have to turn the volume up really loud to hear it, then it might be the pre-amp IC has failed, though it is passing the signal from the inputs. Though I'm concerned that the surround functions are also not working. You might need to look into the circuit around the pre-amp more closely. There might be another IC device that controls more of the functions that is playing up instead. You will clearly need the service manual for this problem.

Whirlpool refrigerator model no. gd5nhaxso00 makes beeping sound at dispenser

I have heard of this same complaint that customers hear a beeping sound coming from the controls at the dispenser panel and this usally will be a sign that the 2303843 Dispenser Control Board is failing. Do have anything that appears not to function properly there in the display? Insure that you hear the sound there and if you do we will need unplug power to disassemble the dispenser housing and have a look at that board. Here is a link to a GD5NHAXSB00.Parts Manual and a D5NHAXSB00 User Manual. Let me know if you will like my assistance testing the board or removal and reinstalling the board, Thanks Sea Breeze

Power went out for a few minutes and when it came back on, there was no sound coming from any speakers connected to my VSX-D608. All functions appear to be working, at least they show up on the display,...

The short answer is there is NO way anyone without hand on the unit could deduce the problem.

First of all, never use maximum volume to test for sound. That's like revving an engine to 10000 rpm's to see if it has started. If you can't hear anything useful at 1/2 volume it's essentially dead or a switch is out of place. If you were to suddenly set the switch or control right you might cook the amp and all its speakers.

Make sure MUTING or MONITOR are NOT activated. Turn the volume down before DEactivatiing either one.

If none of the above, it's toast until a tech can look at it.

Your radio is likely broken. 90% of the internal components might be working, but if the amplifier inside the radio is broken, there won't be any sound coming out.

My 04 navigator left power seat wont move any direction and pedal adjust wont move...there is a clicking sound coming from a black box under seat but no function

it does not appear that the driver seat or adjustable pedal share anything in common

furthermore, the sound you hear clicking may be the actual seat motor trying to work, but lets do a quick test

try to move the seat up/down, forward/back and any combination. If while holding the button in said position and you consistently hear the clicking sound that follow the sound and touch the motor under your seat. If you feel the "clicking" then your seat motor is bound or siezed and will need repair.

if instead you just hear one click then you might be experiencing a relay problem

As for the pedal adjustment... have you checked fuse #109 (30A) @ the CJB (Central Junction Box) behind the right kick panel?

I think you have a multimedia keyboard and you hear nothing when you try to use it or your keyboard is not working.Well if you remove the keyboard do you hear anything from the speakers? You might want to check the volume levels, make sure nothing is muted. The device you are trying to play make sure the levels are turned up.
Good luck

Won't power up; push power button on, hear click in back left of unti, get nothing on front display and no output from speakers; as if unit trying to operate

Disconnect the speakers and see what happens. Carefully examine the speaker cables for unwanted connections (shorts).
Take a clue from when the power problem appeared. Something was moved and made the buzz a (probable) dead short.

Volume Problem?

You say that your Settings; sounds and notifications, are all checked off, and volume slider is turned up. If you still don't have any sound from your speaker, plug in in your earphones and see if you hear anything. If so, you have a bad speaker or device problem. If you still don't hear anything with headphones, then ditto. Contact Tech Support for exchange.
