Recently purchased clock with tempature and humidity dials, humidistat not working It is outdoors in southwest Florida and it says the humidity is 50 %,no warranty or instructions

what makes you think that the humidity is not correct
it is a indicator that will not move much so don't expect it to move around like a temp gauge or barometer

I have an AprilAire 550A with bad humidistat. Can't find replacement. Got a 550 but wiring not right. Not sure what to do!

I believe they just updated model number descriptions. The basic design of that humidifier hasn't changed much over the years. I would go to their website and look for the one that is simiar to your model and get the humidistat for it. They are pretty basic devices as far as what the humidistats do. 24v power and common

I have an Aprilaire 700 humidifier and it won't come on. It has been in the 20's and it worked fine. We then had a couple days in the mid 30's, and it stopped working. I put the humidistat to test and it...

Did you get the plug back together. And did you plug it back in. Also make sure the Humidistat is set right. Here is site that might help you. Hope this helps.

Test the humidistat-- by taking one of the wires off one of the screws, and touching it to the other-
Does the unit come on?-- Then possibly the humidistat is bad.

Let us know what you find

Does setting the dial to a higher number mean there will be more humidity in the system or lower humidity?

By setting the humidistat to a higher setting means that there will be more humidity produced by the humidifier. Depending on what the outside temp is that will determine what setting it should be set at.

I have a aprilaire 600A I have hooked it all up but for some reason the number display doesnt show anything. The controls all light up, but no display. Also for some reason no water is coming out.

Thank you for contacting us. Does your humidistat have a blower activation switch on the lower left hand side of the humidistat? If you do it is our #60 humidistat, and if it is not there you have a #58 humidistat. The R & C are the two connections that supply power to the humidistat to give you the numbers on the digital display. The 60 you wire right into the R & C off the furnace panel. The 58 you need a constant 24 volt and 10 VA power source which you could get by using the transformer off a constant 120 volt power source to power the humidstat. If you are doing this correctly and you still do not get the numbers to show up, then you have a bad humidistat and you need to go back to where you purchased it from and exchange it under warranty provided you used a certified HVAC contractor to do the installation. Our warranty is only valid if you used a certified HVAC contractor to do the installation. If you have any additional questions please contact us at 800-334-6011.

Thank you

FROM A CONDO IN FL WITH HEAT PUMP---I HAVE A WHITE-ROGERS THERMOSTAT (2 STAGE HEAT-1 COOL) AND WANT TO WIRE IN A HONEYWELL H46C HUMIDISTAT FOR HUMIDITY CONTROL. THERMOSTAT HAS THE FOLLOWING WIRE POSTS E O...

It's a little unusual to add a humidifier in Florida. The ambient humidity is usually high enough.

But anyway, if you want to do this and assuming you have central air with forced air heating, you could install the humdifier in a standard configuration, then use a sail switch or differential pressure switch in the supply air duct to turn the humidifier off or on when you are in the heating mode only. The sail or differential switch will ensure that the unit can't run unless air is moving and you can tie the humidistat in to the first heat stage.

Looks like my humidistat calls for coil fan and for furnace heat

It sounds like the humidifier may be improperly wired.
It's hard to solve without checking the wiring, but it seems like the humidistat is wired so that as the dial is advanced, it incorrectly turns on the fan, or furnace, or both.  The contacts of the humidistat should be wired so that they turn on the solenoid only.  Also, the power to the humidistat, to turn on the solenoid, should come on only when the fan is on.
Hope this helps!

Continuous water flowing

thanks for your questions,
what you will want do first, disconnect one lead off of your Humidistat, or at the Solenoid, to see if that stops the water, if it does, you will need a new Humidistat, if not, then you have a bad Solenoid, that will need replaced, you should be able to purchase one or both of these either online, or through an appliance store, or your local Heating and A/C shop, hope that helped ya, let us know how we did, thanks again,
