Question about Sewing Machines

Open Question

Bernina aurora 430 the sewing light dosnt lite and the lcd display does not light up. They both stopped working at the same timd so iassume the two problems are connected. This machine hes one large printed circuit board and a couple of much smaller ones.I cannot find the part number of the large circuit board anywhere. I was told by a sewing machinerepairman that this is probably where the problem is. Is that correct? and if so could you provide me with the correct part number of the circuit board.dosnt operate

I figured out the solution for this issue. It all has to do with the threading. And I mean literally follow the instructions word for word. Most importantly is the Bobbin thread. make sure to thread the bobbin through the case eyelet.

SOURCE: Bernina 910 sewing machine extension table

Hi Phoebe,

What you have is the extension table for the 830 and the 830E Bernina models. What you need is part number 301 276 100. This table looks a little different as it has a small see-through window in the bobbin area and also, it has no clamp (it has push-in pins). Ebay or a site like SewItsForSale is your best bet. I doubt the dealer could get one but if they could, it'd be likely around $100.

If you have any problems with sewing machines with electronic boards or if the machine is computerised it is wise to take it to a specialist for repair.

Bernina Aurora 430 sewing machine that the sewing light and the display went out on at the same time. I assume the problems are related but not sure. Was told that the main circuit board was the problem...

That's probably true if there's not a fuse or circuit breaker on the machine. Alas, if anyone but a repair shop opens the case, you've voided the warranty, so I'd look hard for a circuit breaker on the machine and then if that's unsuccessful, drag it in for repair. With luck, it's a loose board.

Probably too thick to feed without dislodging the bobbin case, causing the error message.

I get an electrical tingle from metalwork on Bernina Aurora 430. They say this is common and not a problem. That doesn't sound like a good answer!

It's NOT a good answer!! Sounds to me like you have an short in the wiring. Unplug the machine and check all the wiring connections. Replace any frayed wires and make sure the connections are solid.

Good luck!

Hi, possibly your feedogs are dropped and in the darning position and/or its thinking you want to embroider and there is NO hoop attached or entire embroidery unit plugged in. Check your feedog button below the handwheel on the bottom.

If you took the door off check and make sure the lower thread sensor on the door is snapped on correctly. Many times it gets put on beneith the bar rather than over it.

I have a Bernina Aurora 430 (not on your list). For some reason, the feed dogs have dropped. The button that usually drops them isn't working.

If you remove the metal plate on the bottom of your machine, you can see the workings of the feed dog raise and lower button. With some luck it just might be a screw that came out or it might be a broken spring inside the sewing arm.
Without a service manual or a view of what it should look like inside when it is functioning correctly, at best you would just be guessing. It should be a simple 5 min fix but it is best to take it to a Bernina dealer for proper repair. Good luck, bushvideo
