Question about Whirlpool LSQ8000 Top Load Washer
Hi, Remove the two screws holding the front panel to the cabinet. The screws are in the slanted part if the front panel.
After the [anel is removed, locate the two 3/8" screws in the upper corners holding the top to the cabinet. The top will raise up. I hope this helps.

The tub should not become unbalanced over time. There suspension springs may wear unevenly, however. Replace all of the suspension springs and it should be fine.
