Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines
I put in a load, add the soap and turn it on and it always gets hung up at 11 minutes left. It does not matter if I select Normal, Colors, Heavy Duty, Bulky Items, or Whites; they all stop about with about 11 minutes left and keep adding water to the load and then it will spin and get unbalanced and stop. If I reach in and move the clothes about and reposition the items, then it will stop spinning and get hung up. If I do get it to move forward, which never seems to happen then it will stop and keep adding more water and the process starts all over again. HELP!!!!!
USEUALY IT IS MOST LIKELY THAT THE UNIVERSAL JOINT UNDER THE WASH PLAT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TUB HAS GONE OUT .SHOULD BE REPLACED . THAT SAID PROBLEY WISE TO GET A TECH TO REPLACE IT . ON THESE YOU HAVE TO HAVE A SERVICEMAN TO REMOVE AND REPLACE THEM ..

Take the lower front cover off, 3 screws on bottom.
Put bucket under right side, large round piece.
Unscrew large white round piece, dump change and lint out and put back together. I did it today.

I have the exact same symptom with mine that is only 4 months old. I have a technician coming as soon as the part is available. The problem is the PCB control board. Samsung has corrected a known issue with the original and has manufactured a new one. This is a known issue and thus the part is hard to get. I have, however found a temporary fix. Unplug the machine for about a half an hour. I haven't figured out how long to do it exactly but when you plug it back in it should read PF for power failure. It's the equivalent of a reboot for your pc. I got about 3 days of service from the machine before it stopped spinning again. Another reboot and I'm back in business.

We had the same problem. We ordered the washer on Black Friday and just got it this past Sunday. We put laundry in and it would not spin. We got the dc code. We have been on the phone with Sears for the week. A repairman came out to look at the washer today. He couldn't find anything wrong and had to call the tech people for help. They said if the washer is in a space that is below 60 degrees it won't spin because the oil in the back of the drum is too thick when it is cold. They have to order a new board to heat the oil. We thought they were crazy. So we did our own experiment and put a heater in the basement. The washer worked! Now we are just waiting for the new board to see if that solves the problem so we don't have to heat the basement just to wash clothes. I am glad we can at least heat the basement and wash clothes until the part comes. I will post after it has a new board!
