Question about Ovens

1 Answer

GE Oven 326B1230P001 - Ovens won't heat to desired input. Input 350F for top oven, it only reaches 275F, input 350F for bottom oven, it reaches 325F. All elements are in great condition and turn red when separately turned on to higher settings. Are there two separate thermostats or does this sound like a main control board issue? Or something else?

I experienced longer cooking times in the past so I bought an external EKCO external oven thermometer and used the same one to test both ovens on 350. Thank you for the question.

SOURCE: fridgiaire Gallery series Model GLEB30T8CBA lower elements dont work

I replaced the relay board for the top oven (the one with the transformer) and it works properly now. My issue was only for the top oven so you probably have to replace both relay boards since both ovens have only the top element working.

318022002 is the part number for the relay board with transformer
318022001 is the part number for the relay board without transformer

Yes the one without the transformer is more expensive for some reason.

The boards are on the top of the oven, I was able to pull out the oven about 75% of the way out of the cabinet and easily get to the boards. Just unplugged the connections and plugged them into the new board.

To get the oven out there are two small screws that go into brackets inside the top oven door. Highly recommend taking the doors off the oven to pull it out, much easier to work with.

NOTE: On my old board I noticed one solder joint that was burned out and I since I already had the new board I just replaced but you might want to check that first and see if just a solder fix gets you working again before you spend $$ on a new board.

SOURCE: Main fan oven does not work, conventional main oven does work

The element is where you said and yes it can be replaced without removing the oven. Remove the bacplate from inside the oven and you will see the element and fan. Remove the screws from the element and gently pull it forward then remove the 2 wires and keep hold whilst you fit the new element. Replace screws in the element refit the backplate job done.

SOURCE: Oven doesn't reach temperature setting

It could be the plug/receptacle that the element plugs into. It could also be that the elements have separate thermostats and that the one for the lower element is bad. If you can post the model number I can look at the electrical schematic and know for sure if it has one or two thermostats.

My top oven won't reach temperature. Convection and broil work, bake doesn't. Over a year ago I did a self clean...hasn't worked since. I really need it to work especially with Thanksgiving next week.

It does sound like the element may be bad. The control will cycle the bake and broil elements to even the heat in the oven. if the element is out the oven won't heat well.

My GE oven heating element heats red hot no matter what temp I put the oven on

Something is probobly wrong with the thermostat, it gets hot to warm up, but should lessen as it reaches your desired temp. If the thermostat is bad it will just keep going.

JRP 15 oven showed 350F and gave preheat beeps. Frozen lasagna "cooked" 45 mins and was still almost frozen. Oven was warm inside, not hot. Bottom element glowed orange when I increased the temp setting...

The oven was obviously not heated to 350 even though this was the setting. There is a very simple proceedure to calibrate the oven. It is different on different makes of ovens. Your owners manual will give you the detail of how to reset yours. If the manual is not available, click on the following link. Hope this is helpful.

You can go to http://www3.sears.com/ or http://www.appliancepartspros.com/. You will need the complete model # from the sticker on the oven. The # listed above is not correct. It looks like a serial #.
