Just bought a home which has a small gadget which says "AirWatch,On/Battery,Air Cleaner,UV Air Treatment, Humidifier". What is this?

A humidifier is the device which adds moisture content into the air. It removes dust particles in your room and keeps your home air clean. For more information: check this website: https://www.vackerglobal.com/divisions/dehumidifier-humidifier/humidifier/

How do i get the motor housing apart to clean the inside of it. I live in a place with very little humidity. I run the humidifier 24 hours a day for 6 months out of the year. The motor housing gets...

I don't think they want you to open the motor housing as it could cause them problems. This unit was not intended to do the job your asking it to do and you should consider a humidifier for your home or apartment. they can be added by a HVAC man and are not to expensive. I think this would help you with both your problems.

Or put some CLR threw the motor and it will clean it up.

I have a Auoflo 250 in my home. It hasn't been clean in about two yrs. Will this cause it to leak.

Possibly. Was it stored in an area that got below freezing? If so, yes. There may have been small amounts of water that were left in it and it froze (expanded) and cracked. Thus, causing a leak.

But, I'd be more concerned about the bacteria that has been growing in the humidifier and would spread through the air if you used it.

Hope this helps.

Our aprilaire humidifier is only 4 years old and it does not seem to be working. We have static in the house and when I did test mode it never drained water like it was supposed to. Any ideas what I can do...

Hope this helps, check and see if humidistat is set to 35% humidity and that bypass damper on humidifier is in the open position or winter position.(humidistat is usually located on cold air return duct near furnace). Next, replace humidifier media pad, remember to replace media pad (filter) annually, you also may want to clean any lime deposit out of humidifier housing with a solution of warm water and white vinegar before installing your new media filter.Remember to turn power off at side of furnace when cleaning humidifier and replacing media. Before installing new media turn power back on to furnace, set humidistat to the on position, turn furnace thermostat above room temp., and inspect humidifier to see if water is running from top,(you may want to have a bucket under humidifier when checking for water), if you see water running, turn power back off to furnace, properly install new media filter, reconnect humidifier cover & set humidistat to 35%. If you do not see water present, check water supply valve to humidifier and make sure its turned on. If water supply valve is open, then check water supply tubing for blockage. And the last things to check is to make sure all registers through out your home are open and not blocked by any objects, also make sure furnace filter is cleaned, if none of this works refer to installation manual to see if humidifier was sized and installed properly, Good luck.

Mold is developing in drainage tubing - how do I prevent?

Keeping the humidity level in your home below 50% will greatly decrease mold growth. You can pour some bleach in the drainage tubing to clean it out and do it every three months to keep it clean

My mother's Kenmore HW305 humidifier is putting out hot steam. Is that normal or is this a cool mist humidifier?

Yes it is doing what it is supposed to do, just remember to clean it regularly, it is both a fine mist and steam, I would recommend having an fan source close to it to keep the humidification moving in the home, hope that helps.

Loud clicking, banging noise

We recently had the same problem. After cleaning both the furnace filter and the humidifier water panel, the clicking noise (electric air filter) and the loud bang went away.
