SOURCE: control panel number 4
Hello, There has been a couple times, Frigidaire was sending out the wrong control board in the correct box ( believe it or not it happened to me 2x ).. finally i had to call ELECTROLUX directly and had them send me the board direct to customer.. i believe that the 4 is because there is a wiring issue with one of the microswitches where the damper motor is and it will not allow the damper / control board to recognize "open" position ..I don't know how old your fridge, but in this case you should get a tech out with some testing equipment. Thanks Mike

SOURCE: We have a 4 year old frigidaire side by side refrigerator, model phs69ejss0, it has stopped cooling fridge and freezer and there is a 4 flashing in refrigerator temp display area, any idea how to fix?
The Flashing #4 occurs when power is applied to the fridge and the control board goes through it's cycles and didn't detect a damper connection.
So its your air damper that's bad.
Here is the part to order.

Tips for a great answer:

Good Morning Brett, thanks for your inquiry!
I understand that your Frigidaire refrigerator is flashing a "4" and you would like to know what that means. The "4" on your display means that there is a damper failure within your refrigerator and I would recommend checking the damper in the rear of the refrigerator to assure it is opening and closing. The damper is located in the back of your refrigerator. I would place your hand back there to assure it is blowing cold air into your refrigerator.
If the damper is not working it could be a potential issue with your damper, main control board, or wiring harness. I would then recommend performing a reset on your refrigerator. You can do that by unplugging the power cord for roughly ten minutes. If this does not help resolve your issue I would recommend having a professional technician out to perform a proper diagnosis and repair. Best of luck! -Matt
