Is it automatic defrost? If so check the timed portion of the cycle and any thermistors attached to the evaporator

I just got a kitchAid standmixer today and I'm sooo happy, but when I turned it on i noticed a little spark going out from where i should change the speed ,, is that normal or do I have to return i

You are probably seeing some dust or the brushes wearing in, unless you smell something burning, its may be just breaking issues. Any electric motor will have small sparks at the brushes. Are they sort of behind the round brush replacement screws?

Question regarding KitchAid mixer, Model K45ss. excessive noise.

Maeveda, Congratulations on your 30 year old KA mixer! Was it a wedding present? Do you still have the K45SS Parts List? If not, you can download a PDF version from the KA website. Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals & Guides> Enter the 6 character model number (in your case, use K45SSW select Parts List (1) and then check to see it this matches your mixer). You can check on page 4 & 5 for the disassembly and reassembly of your mixer, along with all the parts. It will be messy but gratifying. Once apart you can check for any other unseemly wear and tear on the gears, etc.
As far as parts go, here are four potential vendors in no particular order: RepairClinic.com; mendingshed.com; searspartsdirect.com; partstore.com (this vendor the best prices for my wife mixer's parts, but sadly they had to back order them, which was disappointing to SWMBO). Prices for the same part vary widely between vendors, so do your comparison shopping. Here's a link to a site that details the disassembly and replacement of a mixer's grease, which might be helpful, too. http://www.foodonthefood.com/food_on_the_food/2009/04/how-to-repair-a-kitchenaid-mixer-yourself.html
Good luck and have fun. I hope this helps. Howard, Burke, VA

Temperature varies over time. Cleaned coils.

During hot summer months and frequent openings this will happen - it is normal for temperatures to vary when you add in warm food or open the your refrigerator often and for a long time, if it is not your case, then the next thing I could think of is that cold air is escaping, you have a leak somewhere - check your door gaskets using the dollar bill trick - slide in a dollar bill in different areas of the gasket, shut the door, pull on the bill, if there is no resistence and the bill slides out easily, you have a gasket leak.

Suburban 2001 temperature gage fluxuating from high to low

Is it just the gauge or is the engine coolant temperature varying? Does the heater seem to vary in temperature when it is on.
It could be a couple of different things.
One could be a malfunctioning temp sending unit, it has lost its calibration.
Two, your thermostat is cycling open and closed from a weak return spring, worn out.
Make sure coolant level is correct and the mixture is 50/50.
Let me know.

How do I replace the oven temperature sensor/thermal fuse in my Kitchaid oven?

Unplug the range.
Open the oven and look on the top left back wall of the oven to see the sensor protruding out. Unscrew the 2 screws holding the sensor and CAREFULLY pull it out.
Unplug the wire connector. Plug in the new sensor and CAREFULLY push the wires back inside.
Replace the screws.
Turn on the oven and bake me some cookies.

Sub-Zero temperture fluctuation

Just posted this elsewhere and it sounds like the same problem:
As you probably know, the recommended temperature range is between 35-45 F so if your control will not allow you to set this, the sensor or associated regulator has failed.

This seems to be an issue with Sub-Zero.

Temperature varies 13 degrees around setpoint on aux heat

I don't have the book for this particular unit but, check the sequencers that control the electric heat mode, as the regulator heat pump works good. The part may have a time or temperature delay that is too long for you. Also if it has a remote thermostat, check the heat anticipate setting. You will have to check the installation manuel, but its usually .6 to .8, but I don't think that is the problem.
