Question about Logitech VX Revolution 931690-0403 Mouse

1 Answer

Scroll-Wheel is Iffy nowadays

Love this mouse, but the scroll wheel doesn't at all have that beautiful whrrrrrrr anymore that it had when new. It skips some, stops turning as if it's gummed up inside, has lost it's magic. I've guessed it just needs to be cleaned somehow, but before i try something like that, is there anyone else here that's noticed this problem, and come across a solution?

It looks like the rod that connects the wheel to the sensor has lost its traction. The teeth may be worn out. Unfortunately, spare wheels are not sold separately by Logitech and any warranty that you have will be voided if you open up the device.

If your mouse is still under warranty, you may be able to obtain a replacement through an RMA. Click here for RMA details.
The VX Revolution has a 3 year warranty.

Hope that helps

John:

The screws to open your mouse are hidden under the glide pads on the bottom of your mouse. remove the glide pads carefully and you'll see the screws. put the glide pads on with a non-permanent adhesive (like contact cement).

Wheel will not do just a standard scroll

You should make sure that you have the LX7 Setpoint software installed to set the features you want. For the scroll button or button three if pressed, I have mine set to zoom (first selection). The scroll function of the wheel should be automatic. Go the mouse movement settings and set the scroll size to 6 lines. That should allow you to scroll your pages adequately. If this helps send a reply for others to view.

Scroll Wheel does not work with some programs.

If you set the mouse wheel to one page at a time for the scroll wheel and install the FF add-on SmoothWheel the scroll wheel will work fine, you can even use the FF add-on to change the scroll amount even more (with the SmoothWheel add-on install in FF the "one page at a time" isn't really one page it goes by the add-ons rules, which is 1/7's page.
