There should be a paper clip size hole somewhere on the back of the unit. If you depress the button in there it should be the reset. The problems sounds to me more of a hard drive issue though.

Testimonial: "I could not find a reset hole on the back or front of the unit. I also thought it was a hard drive failure, so replaced the drive. The system does not appear to see the hard drive the HHD light on the front is not on, but it was not on before I replaced the drive. All connections are tight. I was thinking there was a combination of holding the menu button plus another to reset the unit. Thanks in advance for any help"
