How do I remove the glass cover for the light in my Jeff oven. I have tried following the instructions in the manual but it will not unscrew.

they get jammed with carbon from cooking i work on these all the time and sometimes have to smash with a hammer to remove it itf you tap it with a piece of wood or a rubber mallet you might break the carbon enough to free it make sure you are turning it the right way as people turn it the wrong way when its upside down.

Why is mu beko cooker building up steam in the over and making food all soggy comet have told me not to cook food with any water in but thats impossible

You do not normally cook with water inside the oven, ovens are for dry cooking only, rings are for boiling water and used for cooking this style

The bulb in the main oven no longer works. The problem is that we cannot unscrew the lamp cover, in spite of following instructions in the manual. How can we do this? It is a U1421 oven, approx 10 years...

Hello, I find that spraying pam cooking spray around the lamp cover and letting it sit for a while will help on removing that cover. Rember to clean the excess spray before using the oven...Hope this helps.

I have recently purchased a Neff double oven UI722 and am experienncing difficulty with the heat control. Most things I cook seem to burn either at the sides or bottom or both . Can you help in any way...

It can be difficult to 'acclimatise' to a new oven particularly if it is a fan oven as cooking times are usually shorter.

Temperature distribution is also different so if you are following your normal cooking temp and time you may need to adjust these so as not to overcook.

Try a few set recipes from the hand book using the set times and temperatures to see if that makes any difference.

Good Luck

Steam is shooting up from stovetop when I'm using the oven, along the back, right side. Is there some kind of seal that can be repaired? Or does the stovetop need to be replaced?

this is normal, the stove must have this feature in order to cook properly and keep your food from tasting like last years turkey

How best to cook turkey. What setting?

hi friend,
step 1
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  • Step 2 Remove turkey from its wrapping and remove neck and giblets from inside the cavity. Set aside to make gravy later (see Related eHows).
  • Step 3 Rinse turkey inside and out with cold water. Pat dry with paper towels.
  • Step 4 Put oven rack on lowest level of oven.
  • Step 5 Place turkey, breast side up, on a roasting rack in a roasting pan.
  • Step 6roast1s.jpg Rub the outside of the turkey with olive oil.
  • Step 7roast2s.jpg Salt and pepper the turkey's body and cavity.
  • Step 8roast3s.jpg Roast turkey about 3 hours, or until a meat thermometer inserted in the thickest part of the thigh registers 175 to 180 degrees F.
  • jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){ var $this = jQuery(this); $this.find('img').error(function(){ jQuery(this).remove(); $this.remove(); }); }); Tips & Warnings
    • In general, a turkey should be roasted 10 to 12 minutes per pound if it is not stuffed and 12 to 15 minutes per pound if it is stuffed.
    • In general, you shouldn't cover a roasting turkey (or any roasting meat); you want the skin to get a nice, deep brown all over, and you don't want it to steam in its own juices. However, if the turkey begins to brown too quickly, well before it's likely to be done, you can cover the brown parts loosely with aluminum foil. (This is likely to happen with larger birds.) Try to cover as little of the turkey as possible so you don't create steam.
    • Be sure to check out other eHow turkey recipes - search the site for "turkey."

    Oven hotter at the back

You should always preheat oven to operating temperature before cooking anything.
Do not put too much in oven, leave plenty af space for good air circulation.
Do not place any reflective foil or the like on the bottom of oven or shelves, as this reflects heat, and you will get uneven cooking.
Make sure fan is working efficiently if it is fan assisted.
