Question about Toshiba DOCSIS Cable PCX1100 Modem
I have a Toshiba PCX1100. It's at least 6 years old. Recently my cable connection drops. The browser loses connection but it restores in just a few moments, sometimes as little as 1 minute to as long as 5 minutes. I have found rebooting the cable modem can sometimes help. It has gotten worse, happening with more frequency. I have used both Firefox and IE, with the same result.
Is the problem with my provider or do I need a new "modem"? Or is it something else?
If I need to replace the modem can you suggest one, I use Comcast.
It may be a problem with your security software as well. do you have norton, macafee,trend micro, panda security or anyone else. Please uninstall it and check it after that.
