Just draw the short hand to the right value. (The short hand is normally frictionally coupled to the axis, and that action would not cause any problem with the clock function.)
But DON'T move the long hand!

Indeed. Here's what to do:
Press and hold all the buttons together eg. Light, Mode, Sel and Set (prob best to take off your wrist at this point), and hold for approx 1 second. The watch will give a shrill beep!
The watch face looks like its gone back to factory reset, but stick with it. Scroll through the mode and you will see the date and month (and all other settings) are stored from previous time. Just advance the time using the Select button and voila!
