Question about Televison & Video
TV picture disappears, TV goes off. We turn the on/off button off to restart it after bout 1/2 hr goes for about 20-30 minutes red light starts blinking about 3-4 times and then same pattern. We do not have digital voltmeter
Without a multimeter, it will be difficult to proceed. The fault sounds like with its main power supply regulator [SMPS] section circuit itself. Check for any loose solder terminals at this section circuit, and re-solder all the suspected ones by applying a little more solder and check. That is the only thing you can do without having a multimeter to use.

There is a real good chance that the lamp fan is not turning. If you look with a flashlight in the vent on the left side looking at the rear of the set and have someone turn on the unit, see if it spins. if it doesnt, the protect circuit in the tv will not let the set turn on. Replacing the fan will cure the proplem if it is not turning.
Hope this helps,

a 6x blinking error code is usually the thermal fuse located above the lamp housing on the light engine. probable cause of failure is clogged fan located in same area or poor ventilation because set is to close to wall [unit requires minimum of 4 inches of clearance]. part # is 1-910-023-93. another possibility but less likely is the gm board which drives the lamp voltage. part # is a1109407a.
