SOURCE: problem with power

Since I don't know the exact circumstances of your power loss, here what I am guessing based on that you wrote.

This may be because the power does not come back cleanly after the power failure. Unfortunately, there is nothing much you can do about it. Since your router does work correctly after you manually reset it, the power supply seems to be fine.

If you have many power failures and find this situation to be annoying, you should look to buy a UPS (Uninterrupted power supply). This kind of devices have a battery that will ensure a clean power output when running, powering up and shutting down. It will protect you from interruptions and voltage fluctuation. You may also benefit from connecting you computer to a UPS because it will keep it running for a couple of minutes after a power failure to allow you to save your work and may also shut it down cleanly automaticaly.

SOURCE: install CD of compex NetPassage 26G is lost

This router is at least 5 years old, and it does not support the more-secure WPA protocol. On that basis, I would "trash" it.

I checked the COMPEX web-site:

http://www.cpx.com/download.asp

and there is no mention of the '26G', although the '27G' is listed as a "legacy" product.

So, spare yourself a lot of wasted time -- go to the nearest "Boxing Day/Week" big-box store, and buy a new router, with new features, like 'Wireless N' and 'WPA2' support, and install it.

Hi! I am a computer professional working to

Hi Kavin,
What I feel after reading your issue is that you are making some mistakes while configuring the router.I am sharing a link below, please go through the pdf document before you configure the Netpassage 18.
http://www.nowire.se/produktblad/Compex/NP18v1.2C-manual.pdf

This is a very good guide to know how the device can be configured.Remember few things.1) Disable all the security measures like Firewall,NAT etc. before configuration.2)Enable SSID broadcast3)Under Basic configuration of PPPoe where you are asked that "Your internet connection require a login"go through this area very carefully. This is where you are making the mistake. Here you have to make changes as per your Internet service provider. Whether it is a login type or not you know that better. It should be always on mode4)Your wireless settings should have a SSID and Security Options (WPA-PSK ) and this key will be your password.5)GO through Chapter 7 very carefully.6) Enable Wireless Router Radio7)Enable SSID Broadcast8)I hope after going through this you will be able to configure the router. Please revert back incase you face any difficulty.Thank you,Avishek

Wireless printing

Check the printer's manual if the software of this printer already supports winVista. If it is, you may connect the printer directly to the PC and check if you'll be able to print.

Hope this helps!
