Crank case pressure on engine will usually splash oil up spout on most stationary engines we just don't usually remove them when running . , I would not look at that as huge problem .I would think your carby main jet needs cleaning , if runs on choke this usually is good sign is blocked.

Exmark lazer HP 19 Kawasaki 50" deck new PTO and new relays blades engage for 30 minutes then shut off engine on. After cooling will engage for 10 minutes then shut off

Engine valves need adjusting.
symptoms: starts ok, runs until engine reaches max temp loses power then stops. can't restart when hot. once restarted runs for a while stops again.

There is very little clerance in these valves and temperature alters the lenth by a few thou and the valve don't close fully losing compression, once cold the valves shrink back enough to create enough compression to start again.

How dose the carboretor work

hello sir, mower will not start or run, does it have good spark, good compression,or only runs on full choke, engine surges up and down, are you getting fuel to the engine if not try this, your carb. is clogged up here is what you can do for a simple repair and other things if you want to, you will need a new air filter, spark plug, oil, if you want to a new blade also ,sears has a mini tune up kit that you can buy. now for the carb, empty fuel tank, place mower on side to where carb is facing up place a rag under carb to catch excess fuel, remove the bowl nut and bowl careful of the gaskets, now spray carb cleaner in the small port holes in the carb steam in the middle of the carb until clean, now spray the bowl nut holes until clean there are three, after cleaning put bowl on the same way you removed it with dip towards front of float, put bowl nut in, now while you have mower on side drain the oil remove filler cap to drain, put pan under spout, mower holds 21 o/z of 30 wt oil,you can remove blade to get sharpened or put new one on,to remove blade put a pair of vice grips on the body where the blade can stop and not turn it is usually a 9/16 or 1/2 socket, put blade on add oil,add new and fresh gas,you should be good to go,hope this helps, what i am telling you here is what i would do if it was here in the shop, any comments welcome, thank you.

Honda lawnmower GXV 140

I have a similar Honda (with the overhead valves) that someone gave me because it didn't run at all. Turns out it had a stuck open exhaust valve. I got it unstuck and changed the oil. After running it about an hour, the valve stuck again. I think this is an inherent problem with these engines. I cleaned up the valves really well and lubricated them. Then I put a high quality synthetic (actually motorcycle racing) oil in it and have been running it for a year now with no problems. Not sure what your issue is, but with stuff blowing out of the exhaust and loss of power, I'd pull the valve cover off (prop up the front of the mower and you can do this without losing any oil). Check your valves and give them a good cleaning. They may not be seating properly, which would cause the symptoms you describe. I'm just an amateur, but I'm learning every day! Hope this helps and best of luck to you Lou.

I have a Poulon Pro (yellow) PR550N22SH. There IS no visible oil drain on it - neither at the base nor underneath. Any ideas where it is on this piece of junk?

Unfortunately, on some of these machines (even my Honda), you have to actually dump the oil out through the fill spout. I just get my mower sideways on a slight hill and put the oil pan downhill from it then gently roll it on its side and dump it out. Tip it back up and over a few times and let it drain well before you add the new oil. If you put synthetic oil in there, it'll last you longer between changes.

My lawn tractor is losing power. its smoking black smoke and the smoke burns your eyes. its did it off n on the last few cuttings. today i had to stop mowing. it almost completely quite running.

First thing to do is change the oil. This should help but does sound like the mower is burning oil do to worn oil piston rings
