Loud toner error

The machine does not use the toner directly from the bottle, it goes thorught a developer chamber filled with developer powder. Then the toner is charged and can "jump" over to the latent image of the drum.
In this developer chamber, there are some small gears (2-3 tiny gears) that may be worn out. Some developer may have entered the "gearbox", and the deveoper powder is very abrasive.
The teeth of the gears will eventually stop to contact and mesh up. The internal parts of the developer changer stops to revolve, and there is no toner mixed with the developer.
You can see that there is a build up of toner, but it does not enter the developer unit. These gears have to be replaced, and I allways change the developer powder at the same time.

mp 2000 developer gears-2rhlv5r3sdqqpeuzs0ozcjtp-5-0.jpg These gears must be replaced it they are worn. The image shows a brand new part that contains the gears.

mp2000 developer toner input side-2rhlv5r3sdqqpeuzs0ozcjtp-5-1.jpg This is the side of the developer unit where toner enters the developer unit. With defective gears, the developer unit can not pull toner inside of the unit, and the toner builds up in front of the unit.

The gears are cheap, but will often result in the need of new developer powder - and that is expensive.
If print quality does not have to be too good, one can use the old powder and save money. Some of the powder is lost during use, and leaks. There may be some dust in the developer too.
In order to get high quality several parts may need to be replaced.

It is quick and easy to change these gears, just a bit dirty job.

What happen, if he did not run toner

Have you had the developer and drum replaced or does the screen say Replace PC Drum? There are certain house chores the copier does before "Ready to Copy" it is waiting for them to get done, so that equals "Please Wait". One big item is making sure the developer and toner are properly mixed inside the image unit underneath the drum. Might want to have the developer replaced and drum/cleaning blade normally done all together, then run the F8 procedure and make sure the counters where cleared. Did you recently replace the drum and the developer if so did you clear the counters for the drum and developer, FIRST. IF not then the copier thinks the new drum and new developer are old. The copier works on the counters that is how it knows it got a new drum and developer. Get new developer and a new drum and have it installed correctly. Counters are clear before the unit is yanked out of the machine, then you remove the image unit/drum unit replace the developer/drum and cleaning blade. (DO NOT USE A VACUUM CLEANER WHEN REPLACING THE DEVELOPER static electricity can destroy the sensor located below the developer unit. Then reinstall and RUN F8. Make sure the fax line and Ethernet cable is removed can't print anything until the F8 is run. Or you will start all over again with new developer and a new drum.

HOW DO I SOLVE TROUBLE CODE C2557 ERROR

Image Unit fault, has the developer been replaced? Was it replaced correctly, with required counters cleared first!!! And proper test run after install? Was who ever installed new developer using a vacuum cleaner? If so might have destroyed the sensor located below the developer unit. (NEVER EVER USE A VACUUM CLEANER TO REMOVE DEVELOPER STATIC ELECTRICTY can destroy the ATDC (Automatic Toner Density Control) sensor. Toner mixes with the developer, on any Developer unit. So you could have a bad sensor or control board. As for the counters if the developer was replaced but counters not properly cleared then copier thinks the developer is old and will adjust voltage as required when in fact it is new developer which is installed and messing with image issues and causing codes. KONICAMINOLTA copiers USE THOSE COUNTERS!!!!!!!!!

Buy new developer, and replace the drum and cleaning blade also normally done together.

Power off the machine. Then remove the toner bottle, be careful the hole might be on the bottom and the toner is going to go everywhere. Then close the toner cover and turn on the machine. Let the machine go through it normal routine. When it asks for toner install the toner bottle correctly. If THE KNUB on the side of the bottle is damage put a new one in. That KNUB is what the toner motor uses to turn the bottle, if it damaged you get a code. If that does not work, you might have a bad motor or the home sensor or actuator for the toner bottle is bad worse case the control board is bad.

Has the developer been replaced and the F8 function run and has the counter for the developer been reset. Also the drum should be replaced. at the same time. If this was already done did the person doing it use a vacuum cleaner to remove the old developer if so the Sensor for this code was destroyed by the static electricity from the vacuum cleaner never ever use a vacuum cleaner to remove old developer

Missing developer unit

Generally this printer can be separate into 4 major part: Printer body, Toner container, Developer unit and Drum unit. The developer unit is the unit where the toner container "mount" on it and it should be removed to allow cleaning task every time the toner container is replaced.
U may get this error message if the developer unit is not install properly after u replace a new toner container. Just lift the developer unit together with the toner container out of the printer and then insert back properly into the machine.
