Is the printer connected via USB to the XP computer?
How did you map the shared printer (ie; what port)
When you're on a Vista machine, go to Network, find thw XP computer, explore, can you access the printer through this method? I need to know if Vista machines were set up with this printer on Local Port or Connected to this machine.

Is there a way I can print wireless from my laptop through the desktop attached to the Canon Pixma MX310 printer?

Yes.
The desktop and laptop both need to be attached to the same network.

On your desktop:
Go to Control Panel, Printers and Faxes
Right click on your printer, and click on "Sharing"
Share the printer on your network

On your laptop:
Go to Control Panel, Printers and Faxes
"Add Printer"
Choose a "Network attached Printer"
Browse for the printer, and add in.

I purchased a Canon Pixma MP480 and have lost the installation disk, what can I do to use my printer with my computer since I do not have a disk?

Here is a link to Canon for your Pixma MP480 software / drivers. You will need to select the OS that your computer is running from the OS drop-down menu, download and then install (run the .exe or install program).

Window Me op sys. and Canon MP480 printer - supplied cd will not install, neither am I able to find a download that will work - any suggestions?

> any suggestions?

Upgrade to Windows XP, for two reasons:

* Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 98/ME a few years ago,
and so did Canon.

* Canon's web-site:

http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=334&modelid=17160

states:

No drivers are available for this selection. This operating system may not require a driver or, in the case of older operating systems, may no longer be supported. Or, purchase a different printer that advertises compatibility with Windows ME.

Can't connect Xp laptop to 64Bit Vista PC to be able to print across wireless network

yes easy to fix, just share your print driver give it a share name like canonmp780 on the pc it is connected to
then get on your laptop asuming its on your wireless network and in the start bar run this command. \\ your computer name one printer is connected to \ canonmp780.
so if your computer name is windows and your printer name is canonmp780 the run command will be: \\windows\canonmp780 hope this helps and really easiest way to connect to it.
