Toshiba 46HM95-Picture Blinking Green

I have a Toshiba 46HM95. After having the TV less than 4 months we replaced the bulb. We have had no problems since then. We rarely watch this TV maybe 5 hours per week. I turned it on the other day and the screen is blinking green. The actual image (ie. from the cable box, video game console, VCR, the regular antenna & the TV menu) does not blink I have tried every variation. The blinking is in front of the image shown on the TV. The indication lights on the front of the TV show no problems. I really need help or direction to what is going on. I contacted Toshiba & the customer service rep had never heard of this problem. I also called Steele & Vaughn (an authorized Toshiba repair shop) & they said that something inside the TV had more than likely came apart & needs to be welded back together. What could this be?? We have only moved the TV once & that was over a year ago. Please help!! Thank you very much for your time & expertise.

Re: Toshiba 46HM95-Picture Blinking Green

Late info but that is a color wheel for people having that problem, it either flew out a part or the motor is failing and can't keep the phase correct. what is sad is this would be a 100 buck part for other brands of DLP TV but Toshiba is modular and the color wheel is in the light engine module and that ups the price to 500+. If you are inventive and careful you can take the color wheel from it's motor and relube the bearing, I have had luck with high temp lithium grease. And there was a class action lawsuit about bulbs failing too soon. The UHP bulbs do some times fail early but Toshiba is known for it

Re: Toshiba 46HM95-Picture Blinking Green

More than likely, as with almost EVERY 46HM95, it's your light engine or color wheel (same thing) starting to go out. The piece alone will run between $500 and $750.. Install prices depend on where ya go. And don't let the Toshiba rep lie to ya. That person might not have known the problem, but Toshiba as a whole has heard about this problem and known about it. If you've searched the internet for the same problem, you'll see that almost everyone that has bought this TV gets the same response from Toshiba "Never heard of it" or "it's out of warranty, tough luck" I'm surprised there hasn't been a class action lawsuit yet.

Wd60c9 lights blinking green sometimes, then yellow and finally red and no picture for any significant length of time

2 possibilities. First, the bulb which allows you to view your picture could be burned out. If that is the case, your tv will turn on and you will hear audio but no picture. $85 for a new warranted bulb from Second possibility. If your TV is on with no picture or sound, you probably have a light engine problem.$325. I don't think it's your light engine. Just don't have enough information. Check the first possibility first. The bulb takes less than 5 minutes to replace. Don't buy just the bulb, buy it with the housing. It doesn't cost more, it costs less and saves a ton of aggravation. Don't touch the bulb with your fingers, use latex gloves when working on electronics.

I have a 46hm95,have had for 4 yrs replaced bulb 3 times needs another.Any reason in particular why the bulb keeps blowing out?

No particular reason. There was a class action law suit filed against Toshiba for this. You can do 2 things to lengthen the lamp life though. Go into the TV menu and turn off the quick start feature. You should also switch the lamp to low power mode. Switch it back to high power mode when the picture gets too dark for your viewing pleasure. I hope this was helpful.

Toshiba 46wm48p showing Green colour

This seems to be an issue with your Digital Video Board, whne you have a Green image on the screen, the bulb is not involved, but there's no need to reutn the bulb, since eventually you're going to need one

Red light flashing while green light stays on

I have the same TV, your projection bulb has quit/failed.

A loud pop was heard and the picture has gone followed by a red led fault light clicking on and off.

if your tv is less than 1 year old, and you registered it with Toshiba, you could qualify for a free replacement.

otherwise expect to pay 200.00 for a new bulb from Toshiba.

only good thing is you can replace it yourself, only tool needed is a phillips screwdriver.

you can check EbaY for prices less than 175.00 to 150.00
i am on my 3rd bulb within 4 years....

good luck!

How long does a lamp/bulb of a Toshiba DLP 46HM95 46 in last?

Your bulb may be blowing because of airflow issues or power cycling issues, first does your outlet get switched off at any point in time? if so you may be killing the bulb before it cools, if you turn the set on/off alot and or restart it after off quickly this could lead to permature bulb failure, if the original lamp was not replaced with a proper lamp to match the ballast it could blow the bulb. If your tv is too near a heat vent or the airflow thru the set is not adequate it could blow the bulb.

Red?Green picture

If you are connected to a HD cable box or sat. rcvr. using component cables, I would then suspect a loose or bad blue connection or cable. If you have Comcast and have their supplied flat component cable this is a common issue.
