This a takeup reel in the back of the unit. The takeup reel could have residual wound around the reel. This also clogs up up the idler or supply reel also found it back(ish) of the motherboard, excess tape spills out when the takeup reel stops and the tape will wrap and spill out of the machine. It probably a bad idler.

Cassette tap in my vcr get eating

The unit has a bad transport mechanism--it among other things moves the tape in play etc and when ejected winds the tape back into the cassette.

Could be bad belt/s or a bad idler made of rubber that does this type of function.

If a old unit may be better to replace if you can find one new.

How do i record from a vcr tape to a dvd on a sansui dual deck vcr dvd recorder?

If it is a combination VCR/DVD player, they usually can't do it.If you get a separate VCR player from a friend or neighbor, you can connect the VCR output to a cable box input, cable box output into DVD input,or if the DVD recorder has a digital tuner you can plug the VCR output player straight into the input of the DVD recorder.DVD recorders REQUIRE some form of digital input. That is why you need to route a VCR player through a cable box or the DVD recorder needs a digital tuner. If you are not sure if your recorder has a digital tuner, call sansui, they will know.I tried to find Sansui home and I found everything BUT DVD/VCR.If you have a manual it will be in there,or it may have a phone number on a label(back or bottom probably)of the unit.Good luck!Greg If you want to send me your model number,I will research it further too.It is up to you.

When I record a movie on the vcr it plays back snowy.

Ur VCR signal recorded free air throught an DTV converter box?Yes,this cause is normal, because VCR player have no digital tuner on the VCR player by itself,on it circuitries design. If recorded throught pay cable signal.Yes,than ur VCR video head player is dirty needed to be clean.Tries websites like Amazon.com,Ebay.com to buy a VCR video head cleaner vdeo tape.Just play it as normal as a video tape, when the video head clean,VCR will display clean head eject tape now.

Need to know if I can record from dvd to vcr on a magnavox ZV420MWB vcr/dvd combo

Magnavox ZV420MWB VCR/DVD Combo
The answer is YES YOU CAN! Take advantage of one-touch recording from videotapes to DVD+/-R and RW discs or from DVDs to VHS tapes. A variety of different inputs also let you record from compatible camcorders, external TV tuners or cable boxes.

CONSUMER ALERT: This model does not have a built-in tuner for recording TV programs and will not record copy-protected tapes or discs. VCR is eating tapes

There are different reasons that a VCR could start eating tapes. It could that it just needs a good cleaning or it could have a mechanical problem you will really need to have it checked out by a service center to determine why. If you have small children I would check it for signs of “peanut butter sandwiches. J

Have digital TV have 3 yr old sony VHS VCR DVD player combo

A DTV converter box will take digital broadcast signals from the antenna and convert them to a format compatible with the VCR. You will be able to record programs received through the DTV box on your VCR if you could record analog over-the-air programs before the digital changeover. You can use either the RF output or the component output from the DTV box to input to the VCR.
