The disk contains the driver, uninstall the driver, disconnect the device from the xbox.Install the driver first and then connect the device (you should be prompted to do so). Make sure your wireless router sees the xbox.
I have two of these players now and i know what this is. It is because of the disc holder. It has been pressed down to the bottom and no longer lets the motor spin the disc. The fix is to carefully pry off the small disc holder that spins and find a place where it will spin freely then apply superglue to the center of it and very carefully sliding it back on making sure its not too far down as to not play. Let the glue dry for a long time and carefully put a disc on and see if it plays. This worked with mine but i kind of broke it in other ways and didnt let the glue dry fully so its still kind of scetchy so i bought another on on ebay for like $10.
I suggest emailing lexmark and telling them u need a disc for a Lexmark X2550 printer. Maybe tell em yours didnt come with one when u bought it and be firm...or you can continue to try and download it from the internet.
Is there any possible way for you to see if it installs correctly on another computer? If it does then the problem doesn't have anything to do with the discs however if the installation error happens on another computer warranty will cover the replacement of the discs for you. I am not at my Vista computer right now but I know there is an option to run in XP compatibility mode, if you can turn that on, by right clicking and going into the disc/program properties, then you may be able to install it. Of course, that would only work if your on Vista, although XP has a compatibility mode for 98/me/2000 which might work. That's all that I can think of right now.
In this case go to ur C Drive and then double click on drivers then double click on Printers and then double click on Applications here u will see a setup file just double click on it and run it it should install the scan software for you......
