Dbodansky 's fax worked up until a couple of months ago, with Window's Vista Home. He had his HP Updates set to "automatic". It is my suggestion that he do a complete reinstall of his software and then run the updates manually, testing the fax service after each update.

allbucdup999
says:
The "reliability update" seems to fall into that timeframe. I would suggest turning off Automatic updates, uninstalling the entire software package, and then reinstalling everything manually.

allbucdup999 says:
The updates should be installed one at a time to establish which one is the culprit.
I know that sounds like a big pain in the behind but it appears to be the soundest option at this point.

I'm sorry we got disconnected sir. Good luck.

I work with Hp
It is not that you cant fax from the solution centre
but the fact that windows vista has an updated version of the registry which
will not allow faxing from the pc unless you have windows Vista ultimate.
Im not trying to blame Microsoft instead of Hp but I have taken calls where customers cannot fax using hp solution centre in vista and I started checking the registry and there is one component in Windows Vista Ultimate that is present which willl allow you to fax but This same registry entry is not there in other Windows Vista's.
That is why I prefer using windows Xp rather to Darn Vista

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have attached the HP 4255 officejet with my computer and want to send the file directly from my computer via fax. how i can send directly without geting print . mubashir@ellahifabrics.com

Well, you'll need a modem to send a fax. Either that, or an online faxing service. Your printer / scanner is only intended to either print files, or scan hard copies into files that can then be printed (or faxed). The printer itself does not fax.

Might I suggest the following online fax service, free of charge:
http://faxzero.com/

There are plenty of others.

There is a line across the page when I fax, copy, or scan. How can I fix this?

If it's along the page of the print the printer path needs cleaning. If it's on the scan you need to clean the scanning window.

HP officejet 6310 All-in-One When I try to print a copy of an airline reservation, from the ticket, or selected "print" on computer, it doesn't run off the ticket. It prints Page 1 of 1 on top of the page...

Make sure you're using the website's printer-friendly option when printing the ticket. Look for an option on the webpage (not in the pull-down file menu) that will correctly format the information for printing.

When faxing does paper face uup or down

You load the originals print side uo on the document feeder tray or print side down on the glass.
To send a single page fax you can either load the original on document feeder tray or on the glass; to send a multi-page fax you must use the document feeder tray.

The position of the paper is the same either you copy, fax or scan.
All this is clearly explained in the user's manual, that you should read and you can download from HP support pages for you printer:
