SOURCE: bosch dryer wtmc3300 was overheating

The motor tripped..The wiring diagram for the dryer is inside the back cover tie-wrapped to the frame as it sounds like the motor has a trip on it:
To reset the switch unplug the dryer, remove the power cable and back cover completely. two screws holding back cover are under the top cover which is held on with two screws at the rear. Remove the screws then pull top cover back and then lift it off. Remove last two screws and take off the full back cover . On the front of the motor you should see two white wires going into the safety switch for the belt breaking. Push the button on the left to reset the switch (you probably will hear a click) Do not push the right button as that is what got tripped originally . Good Luck Tim

SOURCE: my bosch nexxt wtmc3300 dryer

Hello, Welcome to FixYa.

There are a couple of scenarios which may prevent the dryer from starting with Bosch, but with the most common there are two thermostat's/switches
which could be reset, plus a no reset hi-limit ( on the lint housing )... i.e. macmarkus_15.jpg ...which cannot be reset, but the hi-limit is the one related to heating...located on the heater housing and the other (emergency shut off/belt switch) is by the motor shown below.
Anyway,

To save time and back and forth dialog, I`ll mention the most likely and what to do about it.

**Unplug the dryer before attempting any repair tips suggested here please...safety first**

There is an auto shut off or emergency kill switch next to the motor I alluded to which will prevent it to start in the event it was tripped for whatever reason.
This is the most likely scenario in my opinion based on your post...but again it depends on your model.
This will require you to remove the back panel again though. Once you've remove the rear panel, It will look like this image below and all you need to do is push it to the right ( from the back )...

i.e.

macmarkus_14.jpg
Since you`ve already taken the back of the dryer off before to gain access you should have no problem.

Either Scenario I alluded to will require the removal of that panel so let me know if you require further assistance to do this.

The other would be resetting the hi-limit cut out, You can see through the back vent opening when the vent tube is removed ( cannot be removed without removing rear panel the first time, but if attached a certain way can be done each time after ) and then by pushing the red button in...shown below.

Keep me posted how you make out or if anything is not clear or if your model is completely different...some have line fuses at the back.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and good luck.

Regards,

Bosch 500 series new dryer has locked up. Key showing on panel, door opens, but you press every button and get the same beep.

Hi dear.
Regarding your information, I would say Child lock has been activated. I do not know what model or serial number of your dryer but you need to refer your machine's user manual or contact Bosch for deactivate child lock. I hope that helps. Thanks.

Dryer turns back on after cycle is complete

Mike, this is a anti-wrinke function of the dryer. You can turn this function off. Without a full model number I can only tell you to refer to the owners manual to disable the anti-wrinke function.

No heat

Most likely caused by a thermal-limit switch being activated. The good news is that in this model (and many other Bosch dryers) is that the thermal switch is resettable! The bad news is getting to it. I just did one of these by taking the front off and reaching back along the the heater element and towards the back is the re-settable thermal switch. Just gotta press that little red button on the thermal switch. But I had a dilly of a time getting the front back on. I found that I had to lay the dryer on it's back so gravity could assist me. Maybe there is an easier way. I was searching for just that answer when I came across your question. I see that on some Bosch dryers, you can take off the sides. On others, you can take off the back (but this doesn't look very easy on this model). So good luck to you! And let me know if you found an easier way to get to it.

How hard is it to replace the heater of a bosch dryer wtl 6100. Do I have to dismantle the entire dryer or just plug-play from the back side?

Hi - not 100% on that model but many of the recient dryers have their heaters at the raer (as oposed to the around the front door) so are easy to remove after you unscrew and lift off the rear cover... a 10min job once the machine is out.

Dryer will not turn on

If some parts of the dryer works and others don't, then a connection wire is either loose or damaged. You can look up the model of your dryer online and find a wiring guide. Then open up the dryer by taking the front (depending on model) and look for a loose wire or any damage. If the dryer has never worked before, then you may need to rewire the plug, for example, in some older houses the wiring is not grounded and the ground wire needs to be connected with the neutral in order to complete the circuit.
