Ford fiesta 1.2 zetec 2012 as soon as you plug anything in cigarette lighter socket it blows 20amp cartridge fuse f30 must be a short carnt find any wire colours from fuse box to trace, not in manual.

Maybe something wrong with cigar lighter socket? The top wire is voltage, bottom is ground for cigar lighter. If the voltage circuit was shorted to ground, it would blow the fuse w/o anything plugged in. If the component your plugging into the cigar lighter is drawing too much, it will blow the fuse.

I have replaced the #17 fuse (20 amp) numerous times and the cig. lighter twice

Try disconnecting the cigar lighter altogether to see if the fuse continues to blow. If it keeps blowing, you have a short somewhere in the wiring, if not the lighter is causing the problems.

Using cigarette lighter for air pump

It is very likely the cigar lighters circuits wiring sizes are not suitable for the amp draw of the compressor, i suggest you not use it as a power source. Buy clip leads and solder them on and use the battery as the power source. You can obtain the electrical clips from any hardware store.

Cigertte lighter

I am not exactly sure of your problem of just saying cigarette lighter, but I assume you are saying it is not working. If this is the case, most likely it is a fuse. Look in manual if you can not find right fuse or where fuse panel is. However the fuse will be marked as cig or cigar and if that is so, pull out fuse, and replace it with same amp. It will be marked. The fuse you can easily get at any auto parts store, such as shucks, or Napa, or auto zone. Cig lighters often blow because with all these devices now a days we plug in them, they get a lot more use then years ago. For example they were actually designed originally to light cigars or cigs, but now we are plugging in i phones, computers, phones, etc,,,, so they get a lot more use and sometimes we overload the fuse and blows. I tell all my customers that it is nice to have a couple back of cig fuses in the car. There real cheap they normally come in a little tiny plastic pill size clear box, and run under 5 bucks and normally at least 5 fuses in the box. I hope this helped your problem, again I was assuming by your only posting of your problem stating cigarette lighter, Please let me know if this advice helped, or if not, let me know what else i can do for you, thanks Mike

My power outlets and cigarette lighter outlet do not have power. Which Fuses should i change.

chek on the fuse box for Accessories/ cigar lighter, usually this is 10-15 amps rating. Use a long nose plier to check this out and replace. if the fuse blows off again you must check out the lighter for shorting.

88 Buick Park Avenue - Radio, Heating/Ac pannel & lighter are out. Thinking it could be fuse? Any other thoughts & are these on same fuse system.

They are usually not on same fuse..something may be making multiple fuses blow..check the fuse box and see if any are blown.

If your just talking about the lights on those items they are all on the same fuse check the fuses...often a bad cigar lighter socket will cause the fuse to blow

The cigar lighter isn't working how do I fix this problem

This is a fuse problem, check the fuse, it will either be marked lighter or power point, the fuse box is to the left of the steering column it has a plastic cover over it, inside the cover the fuses will be marked on a diagram. If the fuse blows again the cigar lighter is shorted, you will have to replace it, most times the lighter element is the problem and not the well it fits into.
