The HDD has not been placed correctly leading to a short circuit so the laptop does not switch-on . Remove the HDD and power-on the laptop if it switches on then need to check the HDD .

Sony tv black screen

Repairing a TV set is actually a skilled work. If you're not sound in electronics, make sure, that you can't do it; especially to Sony sets. If the set switches ON; with audio output OK, and there is no Video, surely the fault should be with its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check that circuit for fault. I have a viewsonic n3235w and it wont dsiplay picture when connected to sony network media player. Sony logo is displayed but then tv switches to 1080i and screen goes black. Any suggestions?

Set your Sony Media player to output only in 1080i or 720P output mode. If that doen't work and if your Sony supports Component hook-up, use that instead (Blue, Green, Red Video and seperate Audio).

What you have is called YLOD, its a Chip Called GPU. It has been separated from your motherboard and causes to shut down to prevent any other damages. For a repair either send it to Sony or look to a local repair shop.

I was playing star wars force unleashed yesterday n all of a sudden the ps3 automatically switches off n doesnt turn back on i can see the light but when i press to start up a yellow white colour comes up...

Have you ever heard of "Three Rings of Death"? Well, the yellow light basically means that your PS3 has overheated or suffers from a hardware malfunction. The only thing you could try doing is removing your HDD and then putting it back in and sometimes that will work.

If it doesn't then I'm sorry my friend, you'll have to send it back to Sony. The yellow light is usually a sign of death for the PS3.
