Frigidaire microwave model ffmv164lsa constant beeping, with little symbol to the top left hand side of the clock displaying with the beep.

Hopefully no one sprayed a liquid cleaner directly onto or near the keypad...

From page 23 of the owner's manual:

"Wipe the microwave oven inside and out with a soft cloth and and warm (not hot) mild detergent solution. Then rinse and wipe completely dry."

"Clean the outside surface of the microwave with soap and a clean damp cloth. Dry with a clean soft cloth. To prevent damage to the operating parts of the oven, do not let water seep into any vents or openings."

If there is moisture damage, it may dry out by itself if you leave it overnight with the door open. If not, the warranty would be voided and you'd have to arrange for out of warranty service.

If there is no moisture damage, and it failed not due to outside forces, then you should contact the manufacturer to arrange warranty service.

GE microwave that will not stop beeping

he most likely cause of this problem is a keypad on the control.

You can try the stop/clear keypad to silence the beeping.

You can put the controls into child lock and see if the intermittent beeping stops. The instructions to turn the child lock feature you have it in the owner manual . The child lock disables most keypads.

otherwise replace the control board.

God bless you

Jmc8100 built in over jmw8530cas. only button on touchpad that works is stop/clear. turn breaker off for 12 hours, can set clock, use once or twice come back in 5 minutes, and only stop/clear beeps. have...

You have a failing membrane keypad.

On some models, you have to replaced the keypad separately.

I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

On other models, you can replace the whole control panel frame, which comes with a new keypad already installed.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

You can also get details there if you need more help with the repair.

The oven (10+ years old GE True Temp double wall oven) beeps and displays an F7 error message. We can temporarily stop it by pushing the Clear button, but it starts again in a few seconds. We don't know...

I'm a GE tech, the F7 means there is either a stuck button on the keypad or relay on the board behind the keypad. Shut off the breaker. Remove the 3 screws under the keypad and lift the panel a bit to remove it. Lay it face down on the top rack and disconnect the ribbon cable. Turn power back on and if f7 goes away the problem is in the keypad. If f76 returns it's in the control. We typically replace both together because usually if you replace 1 it will come back later then be the other part.

A steady beep comes on and the code F3 appears.

F3 is a shorted keypad most of the time requiring replacement. Try placing your finger flat across the key pad and sliding it up and down and see if the F3 code clears. (Sticking keys can also cause this) If it does not clear then you will need to have the keypad replaced.

My GE microwave started running by it's self. It first said 3.5oz and would not stop until door was opened. then it started beeping and wouldn't stop until door was opened. we unplug hoping it would reset...

It sounds as if you key pad is sticking. PF means that there is an input power problem but could be caused by the sticking keypad.. As far as the unit starting bu itself, the only thing that can cause that is the keypad.. Try running your fingers flat across the panel several times both vertically and horizontally and see if the pad malfunction clears. It will probably repeat in the future but you could get lucky and have a one time instance. The keypad itself is just a bit over $75.00 if it has failed. Good luck.

Microwave beeps, error codes display and keypad stops working

It sound like you have a bad keypad or controls.

Is it possible that moisture from the sponge is getting into the controls?

You might contact the manufacturer to see if there might be a recall. I've seen keypad recalls in the past.

Anytime the keypad is suspected of coming on by itself, the oven should be unplugged when not in use.
