Question about Dell OptiPlex GX270 PC Desktop
I have a Dell Optiplex GX270. It keeps freezing on me within 5 minutes of logging on. I've tried: System Restore, Disk Clean Up, Defragging, Webroot Antivirus, a new surge protector, I also installed a new power supply. I tried to do the PC Restore that Dell's website says should work but no matter how many times I restart the computer and press ctrl+F11 I get nothing. Any suggestions?
You may have either a memory chip gone bad or the CPU overheating. Withot seeing it and testing it's hard to tell you which. But one thing you can try is if you have 2 RAM installed, try to remove 1 and see if the problem continues. If so, change them and put the one you removed back and remove the other. if it continues then you may have an overheating problem.
Otherwise, you can try a SCANDISK and DEFRAG to clean up the hard drive and data.
