Could you please post the model number of the unit? It will be under the washer lid, in the dryer door, on the top, or the side of your unit.

Pull off exhaust vent. Clean. Remove back cover. Clean all airways free of lint and debris. Is this electric or gas dryer? If electric, plug back in and run dryer. Is the heating element glow red? Yes, check and make sure that air is now flowing freely out the back of the exhaust vent. No, replace heating element.

The dryer operates but does not produce heat. i think it is the heating element but i can not get in to the back of the dryer to check. i would like to get a service manual so i can check the element

1 Unplug the power cord from the electrical socket.
2 Remove the screws located around the edges of the back panel of the DVLR223 dryer. Move the back panel away from the cabinet.
3 Push the idler pulley away from the belt to loosen the belt tension. Remove the screws on the panel behind the dryer drum. Remove the panel.
4 Remove the four screws located on the underside of the top panel. Lift the top panel off of the cabinet.
5 Lift the drum up through the top of the cabinet and set it aside.
6 Unplug the electrical wires connected to the heating element assembly. Remove the old heating element from the DVLR223.
7 Insert the new heating element where the old one was previously located. Plug the electrical wires into the heating element assembly.
8 Replace the drum inside the dryer cabinet. Replace the top panel and the four screws that go on the underside of it.
9 Replace the panel behind the drum. Replace the screws that hold it in position.
10 Reposition the back panel onto the DVLR223. Replace the sheet metal screws around the perimeter of the back panel.

How do I replace the heating element on a ge

First unplug your dryer. Open the door and you will see a couple of screws holding the front to the top of the machine. remove these screws and the top will come off. there are 2 more screws at the top and on the inside of the front panel. remove one on each side and the front will come off. you must then remove the belt from the motor and pully. this will allow you to pull the tub out and you will see the elements at the rear of the machine.

GE Front loader doesn't dry clothes completely.

Hello there:
f yourdryer won't heat up, it's possible that it is not being supplied withthe proper voltage. Here are three ways to make sure power is gettingto your dryer: First, make sure your dryer is plugged in. Next, checkthe circuit breaker panel to make sure all the circuit breakers are inthe correct positions. Finally, check to make sure no fuses in yourfuse panel are blown. Any of these could explain why power is notgetting to your dryer.

dryer_heating-element.jpg Heating Element

It is possible that your dryer isn't heating because its heatingelement is defective. Heating elements are irrepairable. If yours hasceased to function properly, you will have to replace it. Open yourdryer's cabinet and locate the heating element so that you can test it.
dryer_thermal-fuse.jpg Thermal Fuse

Another possible cause for a dryer not heating up could be attributedto a faulty thermal fuse. Once a dryer's thermal fuse has blown, it isno longer of any use. If your dryer's fuse is blown, you will have toreplace it. Open up your dryer's cabinet and locate its thermal fuse sothat you can test it.
dryer_thermostat.jpg Thermostat

If any of your dryer's thermostats have become defective, they could bethe reason that your dryer is not heating. Open up your dryer's cabinetand test each of your dryer's thermostats. If any are faulty, replacethem.
dryer_timer.jpg Timer motor

A defective timer motor could also cause your dryer to not heat up.Test your dryer's timer motor. If it is no longer functioning as itshould, replace either the entire motor assembly, or just its motor.

GE DVLR223 Not Heating--Is there a reset?

There is no reset. What he did was probably replace the thermal fuse. Why did he not clean it out for ya? Anyway when the thermal fuse goes bad either the whole dryer or the heat won't work. If you can open the dryer up by removing the front panel, you can test your thermal fuse for continuity. If none replace it. While you have the front off undo your belt and remove the 3 screws that secure the rear of the drum (inside drum in middle at back) pull drum out and make sure heat element is not broken. Here is a site for your dryer check it out. www.repairclinic.com/Appliance-Parts?s=t-dvlr223-%3d%3d&z=100 Good Luck
