SOURCE: Honda GCV160 Engine Won't Start

Hello
You should siphon out all the old gas you can. Replace with new gas. Check that the spark plug is good and the air filter is clean. Spray some carb cleaner in the carburetor.. Also, you should check the oil level and change the oil if it is black. If it tries to start after you spray the carb cleaner in but won't keep going then you know the carburetor needs a good cleaning

SOURCE: Reconditioned B&S pressure washer will not restart

Some suggestions:
Is the gas old? If in doubt replace it.
Try removing the air filter and spraying carburetor cleaner into the carb Then try starting it. If it runs for just a minute, then stops, the carburetor needs cleaning.

SOURCE: Just purchased a homelite 2700

Check for spark first If it has spark, remove the breather and put a few drops of gas in the carburetor.

My Homelite 2700 pressure washer, with a Honda GCV160 motor won't run, when switching from start choke to run. I cleaned the carb.

Sounds like an engine running very lean. Check fuel supply. Make sure you have clean fresh fuel and a new fuel filter. If the carb sits on top of the fuel tank and "drinks" through a pick up tube, it may have an air leak in it. (Think cracked straw sipping a soda). Also be sure the bolts connecting the carb to the engine are snug. Leaaks around those gaskets will cause the same trouble.

The engine cuts off when i squeeze the handle on the sprayer, what is causing this to happen?

Sounds like a bad unloader valve. Do a search on "pressure washer unloader valve symptoms". When they are faulty there will either be little pressure or it will stop an engine abruptly. The engine will not just die down as it you were turning it off. It would stop cold.

Honda 160 homelite pressure washer 2700 psi no pressure

Water comes out the nozzle, but low pressure? ( more than when the motor is not running)
I would check the check valves and the unloader.
If the amount of water coming out the nozzle is the same when the motor is running or not running.
Either the key that connects the motor shaft to the pump shaft is sheared, or the pump is trash.
No water comes out the nozzle would indicate a clogged inlet filter or blockage at the gun valve or nozzle.

This wire is yellow and Goes into my crankcase through the center of a nut. I was just wondering what this wire was and what to search to replace it.

Pressure washer surges

This could be your unloader valve taking in account the engine isn't surging. Does the engine run smooth? Do you have at least 50 psi water pressure feeding the pump? Inlet screen clogged? ALL tips act same way or no change?

NO PRessure

Hi It sounds to me like your unloader valve is stuck, this is the thing that is meant to move up and down when pressing the trigger. Please remove the unloader valve assembly and check for damage. If no damage is found then grease and lubricate this part and replace and this should work ok again.
