Where do I find the orface and air intake on the GE Range

Sealed burner ranges the orifice is in the center of each burner, down inside(brass color). Open style burners the orifice should be under the lift off burner or in some case where the burner tube goes back to the control panel at the control knob. Almost all will be brass color. Oven orifices are at the end of the burner tube where the gas would come into the burner. Air adjustments are usually right near the orifices. A small sliding window with 1 screw holding the adjustment in place.

I have a older 40,000 BTU 3 burner natural gas deep fryer. I would like to convert to propane gas. The orifice number is size 32. Do I need to get different orifices to convert? The serial number is...

Hi there.

Burner orifice size for propane gas is number 55. You have to replace all burner orifice with this size if you want to use the fryer with propane gas. Pilot burner orifice should be replaced with propane pilot orifice. The gas valve spring should also be replaced with propane spring kit. The difference between the two spring is the natural gas spring is lighter or thinner compare with the propane gas valve spring.

Regards.

Front burner won't get hot

The burner and the orifice may be clogged. To check this, remove the offending burner and tap it lightly on a firm surface. Turn the burner on end, open side down and shake it. If debris falls out that's part of the problem. While the burner is out, check the burner orifice by looking in the brill toward the front control panel, where the burner slides over the orifice. Remove the orifice with a nut driver or appropriately sized sock wrench and check the orifice hole for clogs. If it's clogged, take a sewing needle the same size as the hole or smaller and clean it out.

Reassemble everything and give it a try.
