Hm, i can`t see if it supports pixel shaders v 2.0

Is it possible to restore laptop without turning it off after the error has happened?

  • hypoorc Jun 19, 2009

But in readme.txt it says that ati radeon x700 IS compatible. I am trying to run Spore and the glitch happens on space stage.

  • hypoorc Jun 19, 2009

i do not hear a beep

  • hypoorc Jun 19, 2009

And i do not know how to upgrade video card memory

  • hypoorc Jun 20, 2009

No, i DO NOT need it. 128 mb is usually enough. I wonder where video card is located on aspire 5010, through, if it has a 2nd fan...

  • hypoorc Jun 20, 2009

Somehow, this could be related to me a bit over underclocking my cpu
If it is starting on applicable clock, and im underclocking it. And i saw, info must be processed from cpu to video card...

  • hypoorc Jun 20, 2009

I do not want to try running with more clock - last time i tried, the utility`s dll went wrong and not underclocked cpu almost fried my laptop. 2 more retry launching laptop fixed utility.

  • Anonymous Jun 19, 2009

upgrade video card means buying a new advanced memory card. i think tht ur video card memory is too low to support the video application.

  • Anonymous Jun 20, 2009

it may be possible that 128mb video card is enough. but u know i use a laptop with 1gb videocard, and i always wish i could have of more.

That usually happens when the application you r trying to run is wanting to chomp more of your graphics mamory and the graphics card is not supporting it.Make sure you have an updated DirectX version. If you hear beep sound when the screen goes black then check for the beep code [1 long beep,2short beeps] on the internet.See if the computer is not getting overheated and all the fans r working. Check your graphics card specs here and make sure the application you r running is really compatible.

well u can't just increase the video card memory without overclocking n that too if it supports. If the application is supporting the graphics card then check to see if you have compatible RAM memory...or you will have to unistall the VGA driver and reinstall an updated from the website.
If there r no pixel shader 2.0 then you'll face problems in running a lot of games n application. But you said it supports then just go ahead and try what I said.

My asus m50sa over heats and locks up when im play games all fans r working proprely i think i need a video card

You may need to upgrade your video card. On my desktop at home, we would play graphically demanding games on it pretty often. While we stayed within the system requirements, our computer would often overheat, despite the fact that all of its fans were working properly. If you push the video card too hard and too often, it will cause the computer to get very, very hot. Upgrading the video card and adding another fan solved the problem, although I don't know how to upgrade your video card on a laptop.

It went black but the power is still on

Computer Crash
One of the more complicated reasons why laptop screen goes black is a crash. This could occur for a variety of reasons and is often very difficult to fix. You will have to take the machine to a computer repair shop, and they will open up the laptop there to find the cause. Needless to say, this could set you back by a few hundred dollars as well. The crash could be caused by overheating, or maybe even a loose power supply cable. One solution for you is to play an audio file if the laptop screen goes black. If it does not play at all then something is wrong with the entire system, but if the audio file plays then it is just the laptop screen that is troubled.

There are a few computer viruses that can cause this problem, but most antivirus programs can effectively deal with such a virus. Update your antivirus software regularly and make sure you download all possible firmwares, and this sort of virus will be successfully thwarted. If your machine is infected with such a virus then your video drivers will most certainly be affected, and even your video card could get contaminated. All this results in your computer screen going black, and in some instances, your laptop screen may even go blue.

Drivers and Programs
The video drivers are crucial for making the computer monitor function properly. On some occasions though, these programs can stop functioning due to some reason. If your laptop screen goes black after startup on a consistent basis, then maybe it is your video drivers that are malfunctioning. To avoid this situation, you should constantly upgrade your video drivers, and should also refrain from using pirated video drivers. Spend those extra bucks on getting licensed drivers, and you will save a lot of unnecessary expenditure in the future. Read more on how to upgrade laptop video card.

HELP!! my computer screen keeps going black when i play games :(

There is probably something wrong with the card. You updated the drivers
after the problem ,,right.

You have 3GB ram so that is ok. Your cpu and video card are just fine,
so the most possible would be the card is failing.

I have posted a stability test and a benchmark/ stress test for you to check the card, download the one for your OS, xp, vista.

If the card is going, it will act up when you test the card.

The screen went black and now it has alot of lines across it

Sounds like a bad video card.A video inverter could cause distorted graphics but usually it turns out to be the graphics card.

Wavy lines, goes black during video games.

It sounds to me like the monitor's refresh rate is too low to support your current settings, and the demands of the game. Have you tried adjusting the refresh rate? If I'm right, you should be able to fix the wavy lines that way. I'm not sure how much control over the refresh rate the game takes, but if you can fix the wavy lines and the game still doesn't work, I think you're not likely to get the game to work on this monitor.
