SOURCE: transmission oil ? for cub cadet tractor

Hi, Cissy, Every Cub Cadet is different, and they keep their manuals to themselves. With your exact model and serial number, you can go to their website and view the manual for your model which should have the type of oil you need. Their website is www.cubcadet.com and go to service. If you have trouble, let me know, but I will need the model and serial. Good Luck, this should Fixya!

SOURCE: finding the oil plug on Cub Cadet LT 1050 with Cohler engine

It is probably on the right side in the middle of the engine. It should have a yellow cap on the end of the drain. Take the cape off and slide about a 12" piece of 5/8" x 1/2" clear vinyl tubing (available at Home Depot, Lowe's, etc.) on the end, turn the plastic body to the left (about 1/4") and pull out about a 1/4". Oil will flow. Reverse to shut off.

Testimonial: "Well you were exactly right. I had to remove the two plugs on top and kept operating the lever until I got the oil to run out the top. Runs great."

Cub Cadet 1525 belt diagram

Attached is the blade diagram for correct placement of the deck belt. There is some bleed through from the back page, but you can see the direction of the belt. I have a 1525 mower for the last 11 years, still running and going. Hope this helps! 25105582-ergctme4kokczpvvmmku3zkh-5-1.jpg

Why is my Series 1000 LT1024 Hydrostatic Drive Cub Cadet not pulling?

In most cases the hydrostatic drives are not made by the company tractor or lawnmower.
This is in the owners manual.

Hydrostatic Transmission
The hydrostatic transmission is sealed at the factory
and is maintenance free. The fluid level cannot be
checked nor can the oil be changed. Always keep the
area around the transmission cooling fan free of grass
and debris at all times

Oil change

Take the old one out and get the numbers off of it or take it with you for reference. The amount of oil is probably 3 quarts but that can be looked up on cub cadet site.

My Cub Cadet oil light was on it read 100 hours

Yes, you overfilled it with oil. Drain the oil and fill to the correct level. If you are not sure how much to put in, add small amounts until the dipstick shows a full reading.
