Question about Sanyo DS27910 27" TV

1 Answer

Television will not stay on

I have a 27 inch Sanyo tube television, and it has been working great, and has a great picture. It turned off on its own, and upon attempting to turn it back on, it came on about 10 seconds and went back off. On a second attempt to turn it back on, the same thing occured. At that point it would not turn back on. After waiting about an hour, I attempted to turn it on again, and the same series of events occured again with no success in getting it to stay on. Please help. Thank you.

SanyoTV-blk screen w/thin line of light across screen great sound

Your Vertical Amp is probably Blown (bad) , but before you change that check all capacitors around the vertical amp IC and / or resolder resistors and diodes around vertical amplifier.
And NO it is NOT the Picture Tube
Good Luck

No, you have either a bad solder connection on or near your vertical output IC, or a defective IC itself. Don't leave the set on for long with the line across the screen or your pic tube will be toast.

Sanyo TV stretches outwards and shakes

If the picture is closing (top to bottom) and goes back to normal when you hit it you probably have a bad solder connection on IC501 (location number) the vertical deflection IC on a metal heat sink. If you mean outwards as in side to side as it looks in the picture, I don't know specifically where to solder but get a magnifying glass and look for suspected bad solder connections. Look for the word width if it is there. It is good that you a confident in soldering.

Susie, you either have a shorted green drive transistor or more likely a shorted cathode inside your picture tube, transistor repair is a cheap fix, picture tube means set is not worth cost of repair, hope this helps

NO -the tube will be fine . The TV is in 'protect mode' . THis means that it has shutdown because of an internal fault condition. THis TV needs a technician's love..

Picture tube doesn't turn off

The power relay driver or the relay itself is bad. Its sticking closed so the voltage is there for the power supply but the micro has turned off the tuner.
