Why doesn't water drain into the hose?

My dehumidifier was dumping condensate onto the floor instead of through the hose to the floor drain. The solution turned out to be making sure the unit was level. No worries since then.

Where can we get a part to plug the hole so the water will drain out the hose? The hole is not round so it makes it more difficult to plug. HDN 655E 65 pints Thank you. Bob

Bob, you don't need to plug the hole for the water to drain out the hose. Once you remove the hose connection cap and connect a hose, no longer than 5 feet (a garden hose will work), the water will drain from the hose and not into the bucket. That is, unless the drain tube is clogged. In which case, an 18" long, plastic, Zip Tie, appropriately sized to fit in the hole, works well to unclog it.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

My direct drain connection seems to have quit working. The drainage bucket fills rather than the water exiting the drain hose.

The line may have "gunk" built up in it. I would suggest checking the drain line to make sure it is not blocked.

Continuous drainage

Take out the drain pan and look in left hand top of the compartment and you will see a drain hole for the pan.Plug the drain hole with a small rubber plug, I used an electrical wire nut wrapped with tape and it worked fine.replace the pan and the water will run out the back. A 3/4" garden hose should work for the drain hole.

Haier 30 pint dehumidifier continuous drain problem.

Many just attach the hose at the reservoir; from your description, Haier apparently has a separate location. Check that the point that the hose attaches has an opening (many don't, they expect you to drill it). It should then drain through gravity. Check to make sure that no part of the drain hose is higher than the bottom of the reservoir, otherwise it can't drain. It won't siphon because each time the the tank empties, the suction is broken and the siphoning can't continue.
