How to upload photos to an iPod touch 3

The iPod Touch was the sister device to the iPhone, and shares most features for running applications, playing music and videos and photos showing. Like the iPhone, it relies on iTunes to sync your media library and portable device and for photos, iTunes bind to a separate program for administration of photos like iPhoto on a Mac or Adobe Photoshop Elements on Windows.

1. Gather your photos in iPhoto or Photoshop Elements or, or in a folder you want to copy them on your computer. Organize your photos in this process makes it so much easier. If you rename your photo collection in iPhoto or Photoshop Elements, it will sync and stay organized on your iPod touch much easier.

2. Connect your iPod Touch to your computer via the USB cable.

3. Open iTunes if it does not start automatically when you connect your iPod to your computer.

4. Click the Photos tab in iTunes. In the top panel is a drop-down menu where you are the source of the photos you want to sync select. If you have iPhoto or Photoshop Elements installed, the default option. You can then specify the name of collections of photos you want to copy to the iPod Touch. If you do not have iPhoto or Photoshop Elements installed, you can navigate to a folder of image files in it.

5. Click Apply. The photos are synced to the iPod Touch.
Photos disappear on iPhoto

Hi Linden McNeilly,

In case if you have lost your photos from your iPhoto library. You can recover them back with the help of a photo recovery software. The one which I use is Yodot Mac Photo recovery software to recover iPhoto photos. So if you have any photo loss from your iPhoto library you can use this software.

When i click iPhoto it gives me a screen with a symbol going around and around and won't show me any photos

Sounds like you iphoto library is either corrupted or is not well, what I would suggest that you download iphoto library manager from http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ there is a free download which may be able to resurrect your library the cost of the full package is $19.95 and it is well worth buying particularly if you have a large iphoto library. Hope this helps.

Does this camera work with macs OS X 10.5. I am able to download picts into iPhoto, but they won't stay there, they disappear. I have kodak c813 easy share.

When you connect your camera to your mac, iPhoto may open up and display the photos from your camera on screen (look to see that the camera is shown in the lefthand sidebar in iPhoto). However, the photos are not stored on your computer until to click 'Import'. After import, your photos are copied into the 'iPhoto Library' and now stored on your mac.To find them click on 'Events' or 'Photos' from the Library menu on the left sidebar.
If you are still having trouble copying your photos from your camera. Try using the 'Image Capture' app in the Applications folder to transfer photos from a camera.

My iphoto icon on deck has a ciricle with a line though it which means no. I can not open iphoto. it states it could be damaged .

Hi there, there is a easy fix to this problem. What you are first wanting to do is to make a backup of your iPhoto library. The default place is User(Your Home Folder) / Pictures/ iPhoto Library. What you are going to want to do is right click the iPhoto library and select duplicate. Then just click and drag that new iPhoto library you just made to the desktop. Now what you want to do is to install iLife again. Just insert the iLife disk and follow the on screen instructions. Once that is done you should be able to open iPhoto again. If for some reason when you open iPhoto and your photos are not there, then close iPhoto and you want to place the new iPhoto Library that we put on the desktop into U ser(Your Home Folder) / Pictures/ Now drop the iPhoto Library and make sure that it is called iPhoto Library and not iPhoto Library Duplicate, if that is the case then right click the file name and click get info, then just rename it iPhoto Library. Now you are done, open iPhoto and you should have all your photos again.
If for some reason this still does not work, then once again close iPhoto, this time we are going to open it agin but while we open it we are going to hold the option key down too. A menu should pop-up asking you what library you would like to use, all you want to do is select the one that says is located in User(Your Home Folder) / Pictures/ iPhoto Library.

I hope this helps you, Justin

I have a 250gb G-Drive with 10.4 iMac and have transfer photos from iPhoto Library to the G- Drive to give more room in the library. Now I am trying to delete the photos still in the iPhoto Library that...

Hi,

1. Drag or export the photos to another device and delete the originals out of I photo. The problem with this is that you will no longer be able to revert those images to your originals. Using the export function for this gives you more options than drag and drop.

2. Hold down the option key when you open I photo will allow you to create a new I photo library on an external drive hooked to a USB. This means you have all the options of I photo, while storing the images somewhere else.

3. Copy and paste your entire existing I photo library to an external USB drive, then delete as much of your old library as you wish which could be all of it. Do this from your pictures folder on your hard drive, not I photo itself. This option allows your photos elsewhere while preserving all the I photo functions including your ability to revert to original.

Let us know if you want something else please accept the solution.

Thank You for contacting fixya.com

Desktop thinks its an iphoto library

Go into iphoto and set the destination folder somewhere you want the photos and there should also be a preference like in itunes to keep the library clean or together choose that if it doesnt work still pick a new destination and move all your photos to there. You may have to drag and drop the photos back into Iphoto but that should do it.

Lost iphoto back catalog after an import, is there anyway to recover these photos?

the back catalog of your images are not gone. Since the pictures you have uploaded form your camera to iPhoto all those files are still there. All you need to do is re-load the images into the library of iPhoto.
1) Start iPhoto, then in the menu goto File / Add to library..
2) Then a file browsing window will open, all you need to do is locate the folder in which u had specified to iPhoto. (Default location for iPhoto is located at MainHD / Users / Username / Pictures / iPhoto Library
3) Once you have located the folder or folders you wish to add to your library or catalog just press import. And all the images should show in the catalog.
4) if you have more pictures saved in another folder, then repeat steps 1 to 3 again. but in step 2 locate the folder or drive you wish to import from.
