Question about Video Cameras
Internet check shows a signal but when I try to switch to Sony Entertainment Network I am told "not connected to internet. My laptop works perfectly fine with the same router. I am with Orange Broadband

NETGEAR Technical Support Engineer 1. access 1st the router's setup page * open up a browser * http://192.168.1.1 or http://www.routerlogin.com/ 2. go to wireless settings under setup if you have a wireless phone at home change the channel of the router, make sure they dont have same channel 3. change the mode of the router to w/c your laptop's wireless adapter support (eg. b only, g only ) 4. try to change security option wpa instead of wep (make sure your laptop's adapter support it) 5. change SSID (note: if you've change the SSID of the router, remove the profile on your computer under preferred networks 6. change your passphrase 7. Disable Advanced 108Mbps Features 8. Disable Setup Access List (it can be found in wireless settings under advance) 9. upgrade firmware of the router * before upgrading make sure you backup the settings (go to backup under maintenance) * if latest firmware is installed * flush firmware (flushing it is just reinstalling even if the latest firmware is installed) 10. power cycle frequently (turn off for 10 seconds then turn it on again) 11. 1. Make sure that wireless settings are properly synchronized.
>> ssid/security key.
2. Check your computers wireless connection status
> Make sure that it is set to "obtain ip address automatically)
3. If still not working if computer is set to obtain ip automatically, try assigning static ip on wireless pc
> You need to know your router's ip address and dns
4. Disable firewall on wireless pc.

The following info. might help you fixing the above problem:
For WIRELESS CONNECTION follow these Steps:
(Note: Keep the Ethernet cable plugged in unless we set up
1: Click on Home Network
Click on Configure which is the 3rd last icon on the Top
Make sure that the option-Interface Enabled is ticked.
Channel selection should be ob Manuall.
Wireless channel can be 11( thats what is in my case).
Encryption is again depending on what type of sercurity you wants. I would suggest go for WPA.
After editing the above info. do not fail to note the KEY before clicking Apply
Now just enable the WIRELESS CONNECTION on your PC /
Pull the SSID of your router and Click connect.
It will ask for the WEP/WPA key?
Enter the key and Click connect.

Most laptops have a combination of buttons you have to press on the keyboard to get it to output on the monitor output. Try pressing the FUNCTION KEY or FUNC/FN key usually found in the bottom left hand side of the keyboard. Keep that button held down while press one of the number keys. Usually the number key will have a picture of a TV screen on it. Might be number 8 or 9. Press both keys at the same time a you can switch between laptop screen, Sony LCD or you can have both..
