SOURCE: Duet Sport. Will not start in any setting.

Get a sledge-hammer to within 2 metres of the washing machine. Then go for the button on the right side "end of cycle" & depress it with your finger for 3 seconds, the control light will come off & I hope you will be able to use your machine.

PS. Remove the sledge-hammer.

SOURCE: Cabrio start button flashes but doesn't start.

It ispossible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errorsdue to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main programcontroller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting fromthe flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit thewater at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then thevoltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to novoltage from the controller. This meansthe controller is a suspect. If thewater flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad orthere is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the waterline. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally apressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal tothe program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for themotor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door isshut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.Check thislink to replace the inlet valve:http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/washing-machines/a/7/1408/how-to-replace-the-inlet-valve-on-a-washer-dr.html Finallyafter the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to comein to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activatedso as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.Make surethat a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so checkthe command from the program module and then the executing device be it thevalve or motor or pump. Dishwasher bottom part works top part all lights are on and wont work

I'm assuming its a fisher and paykel, you will certainly need more info. Do you have an led display or 3 buttons and lights. Any fault codes, flashing beeping when buttons are pressed etc. If everything is normal no unusual beeps lights etc but nothing AT ALL happens when you press start it is the door 'switch' which is actually a light that is reflected through a plastic prism and back to itself ( originates from the board) check the prism top right drawer frame. Just compare to working drawer. If not more info required.

Why wont my kitchenaid foodprocessor start?

Take the bowl off, turn it on in the centre at the front where the base of the handle would normally be there is a light coloured button/plastic piece. Push it in with a matchstick. If the motor now starts then you have a problem with the safety switching mechanism in either the bowl or the lid. It is more often the lid. The only solution is to replace the faulty part. Easiest is go to a service agent and buy whichever part solves the problem.

Bike wont start all power there everything works..push start button and nothing why?

Slow down and provide a lot more description of what is and of what is not happening please. Are you saying everything that is electrically powered operates?? What is the battery surface voltage. What happens when you press the start button?? Did anything happen around or at the time your problem started??? Do you hear any noises. If so what do you hear??? Confirm the model and year as this gets messed up in the categories area sometimes with FIXYA.

My frontloader start button wont work

I have the same problem, I just took it apart and found the plastic piece that is behind the green button broke off, the plastic is really fragile, trying to get a few parts off and they kept breaking, defect in the plastic I suppose. I'm now trying to find a new front panel, not the "user interface" but the actual front panel piece since these parts are not fixable. I'll post more after I find the replacement.

The pulp collection receptacle has a tiny clear plastic button on the bottom. If this has broken off (it happens often) the machine won't turn on. The button must be present to depress the safety switch at the bottom of the machine. If everything else is properly assembled and the machine won't turn on, this is probably the cause. Check the bottom of the pulp collection receptacle to see if the button has broken off. (picture #2) If so, replace it with a piece of pasta or a tiny piece of wood. Sounds silly, but it works. The safety switch at the bottom of the machine must be depressed before the machine will run.

Dimension E510 LCD Monitor with broken power switch

Hi,

Thanks for responding. Nothing happened when you pressed in the power button and the warranty had expired; Dell was no help so don't bother. I read that there were tab(s) on the plastic power button that had broken off and no longer engaged the power switch. I "solved" my monitor problem by drilling through the plastic case between the power button and the minus button, pulled out the plastic power button and pressed the switch with a flat screwdriver to turn on the monitor. Now I leave the power on all the time and put a piece of black masking tape over the space where the power button was. Not the best solution I'm sure, the hole isn't pretty, but it works. If anyone else wants to try this solution be careful when you drill through the plastic case because the switch you want to engage occupies the space between the buttons, exactly where you are drilling. If you drill through the switch you might as well throw the monitor into the recycle bin. I expected to find an actual button switch and was surprised to find a flat, 2 prong circuit switch instead. Good luck to all.

Tv wont turn on

I had the same problem and took it apart. Before the repair there was no "click" when I pushed the button, a clue to the problem. The on-off button on the front pushes a weakly made angle piece of plastic inside which had broken. The plastic piece in turn is supposed to push an internal switch which is offset to one side.

I used epoxy (Araldite) to repair the broken plastic angle piece, but it still looks weak to me so I switch the tv off at the wall and leave the on-off button alone (though it does work now).

Opening the case requires some knowledge and care, and can be dangerous. It may void the warranty so be careful or give it to a qualified repair person.

Hope this helps!
