I'm an engineer and familiar with the innards of these things. My considered opinion is that I would not try what you are suggesting, which is a hot swap of the fan.

My reason is safety. Inside that unit are elements that generate 120V AC within a few thousands of a second of power loss. That can happen at any time. If you are in some random location up to your elbows, how will you know? Also, during this same interval, the unit is bypassing the AC generation and coupling AC to the internal outlets.

120V is sufficient to kill you if applied across the right points on your body at the right time.... say from hand to hand across your chest. Not worth the risk of a few minutes of downtime, especially for novices.

I'm not familiar with this specific UPS, but the standard method of doing this type of thing is shutting off the loads, removing the UPS, fixing it, re-installing it, and powering everything back up. If it's going to take HOURS and you need the machine, you can always power things up without a UPS OR you can borrow one for the moment. You should be comfortable with doing this sort of thing, anyway and practice is a good thing.

The shutoff valve (usually has a set of contacts like a relay) is probably stuck. For the most part, these are not adjustable. They can usually be removed, cleaned, and reinstalled to correct the problem. Sometimes that permanently fixes it. Sometimes, you have to bite the bullet and by a new shutoff valve.

Mitsubishi VS-55707 Rear Projection - Power button turned on, green light on television shows power but automatically shuts back off within a couple of seconds.

My brother had the same issue. I have the same set as well with this very issue. My brother had his fixed: repairman soldered the circuit board???? My brother could not tell me where on the circuit board or what circuit board???? IF there is anyone that knows about this....it would be helpful. I DO NOT WANT TO have someone else do what I can fix myself....besides by the time I pay a repairman I am 1/3 of the way or better to a new set anyway!!! Thanks a bunch - Pam

Unable to print and showing an 'unable to print 5A code

There are diffrent reasons for this error:

check, if something sticks in the machine (paper or metal clip)

The paperfeeder clutch gear is broken: check if the paper feeder works well.

The purge station has problems to do the cleaning jobs: gear broken or too much ink within the purge tubes.

Anyway, this problem is hard to handle for a novice due to so many diffrent reasons.

You should contact a service dealer and in case it is still in warranty let fix them.

Dropped Camera Zoom Problem

Afraid not a novice or even an expert can fix this one. It will have to be a repair of the zoom mechanism. It will almost certainly be costly. Check your Olympus support site to see what your local repair options are.
