Open Question

Water leaks when pump is on.

In travel trailer. When I dewinterized the rv and turned on pump to fill lines water leaked from front of pump near connections but not including them.

Hi there,
You can use Teflon tape on the threads or get some epoxy glue at an auto parts store,it comes in a clear tube about the diameter of a nickle.It's called block putty.Just take it out and knead it till it turns whatever color the instructions call for.A local hardware store will have the Teflon tape.Try the tape first and make sure the threads are OK.I have used the putty on my water cooler and on leaking pipes under the sink.One time use it to fix an oil leak on an engine in a car.Thank you for choosing FixYa.com.

sad to say this but we have no idea as we see no make model year etc . but can suggest looking the unit over well with a flashlight . under seats in cabinets under sink etc .

When I hook up to city water, it goes into my fresh water tank and then overflows. Does anyone know what would cause this?

Dewinterize travel trailer
hook up to shore power. check voltage at fuses to make sure they are getting proper voltage. hook up water and flush out water lines, fil up hot water tank and flush. turn on a/c. check battery voltage to make sure slides will work. check with voltage meter on all outlets for proper voltage. dont know what else your looking for.

When connecting the water to the city water connection it filled my fresh water tank. Is that normal?
Probable cause would be a leaking check valve in the pump.

On the RV the city water and discharge from the fresh water pump are tied together. When on city water the discharge of the pump will have city water pressure on it. If the internal check valve on the pump is leaking, water will flow through the pump backwards and into your fresh water tank.

Where is the drain for the water tank on a 2001 Dutchmen 26 ft. travel trailer?
I assume you mean the fresh water tank. These drains can be just about anywhere, but always at a low point.

If you can't contact the dealer or manufacturer for location, look underneath the RV, under the sink, behind removable panels inside, and close to the waterpump either underneath it or in the waterpump compartment itself.

There are usually 3, freshwater tank drain, cold water line and hot water line. Some turn and some pull up. Experiment which is which or try to trace them back to origin.

The statement is extremely vague. Is it a travel trailer or a motor coach? Motor coach could be dripping condensation from ac while in use. Is it fresh water and only leaks when connected to a hydrant? Does it only leak when sewage is dumped into the black water holding tank? In short, you must determine under what condition the unit is leaking. Then narrow down where it is leaking from and then identify the failed part. RV manufacturers do not publish plumbing diagrams so it is all visual in the diagnostic process.

Condinsate Water Leaks Inside Trailer
Where is it dripping from inside the trailer? is a tray under the unit filling up? why does the line drip? where from? is it split? have you put a color dye in condensate to check flow what temp have you got inside your trailer when A/C off?

Ice maker leaks with or with out power on the far right side
The water valve (or solenoid) that only lets the water through from the water supply line when the ice maker calls for it is leaking you have to replace it.

My Whirlpool ultimate care is leaking under,I did check the hoses and they are okey. What could be the problem?.
Can you describe where the leak may becoming from? For example, near the front, from under the washer, or near the back.

If you notice a pool of water coming from under the washer near the FRONT, this is commonly caused by a leaking water pump. Since these pumps are sealed units and are considered non-serviceable, it must be replaced. They cannot be resealed or "fixed".

If the leak appears to be leaking from under the washer near the CENTER of the tub, either the tub seal is leaking or the air dome hose may have come loose. If the tub seal is leaking, it also must be replaced. If the air dome hose comes loose, however, the washer will never fill up all the way and will continuously run. This will cause a flood rather than a drip.

If the leak is coming from the REAR of the washer, this can be caused by cracked fill hoses, loose fill hose connections, a leaking drain hose, or a fill valve hose leaking.

Since you said you checked your hoses, I suspect a water pump, or something loose. Can you please confirm your symptoms and let me know?
