Sierra Wireless Sierra 305 Wireless USB Aircard network gateway for home

Aircard used as gateway for multi-computer, multi-router, and multi-device Ethernet for years. New encryption method installation works fine for Workgroup but thinks aircard is not part of Homegroup or sharing so only primary computer has Internet connectivity. How to put two networks on Homegroup so infernal Windows 7 OS computers will accept aircard gateway? I have tried many configs and started over from scratch several times to the point of even considering getting a postal job :-). Prime computer is W7. Vista & Mac used. Zytel wireless n-router. Linksys wireless g-router. D-link 16 port switch. 2 local pros and on remote support from a major company have already failed to fix. All agree that it shoud be doable and was doable before windows 7. ideas?

I want to hook up a wireless router to my sprint sierra wireless aircard 595U. How do I do it?

Actually you hook your aircard to the router...
When you turn on your device, it will detect the network being broadcast by your router. The router broadcasts it's SSID (network name) and this will appear on your screen as one of the networks available in your area. Select your own networks and click connect. You will need your WEP (network key) to logon on though so make sure you have this ten letter code before you start.

Connect Sprint PCS Sierra Wireless Aircard 402 home network??

Yes, you need to get in the router settings and disable DHCP in LAN configuration. That should do it. Also enable the ICS for the Air card. (Right click on Sierra Wireless icon, properties, advanced, check the box next to Allow others networks user to connect through this computers internet connection)

I do not have a router because i live in the country and the only way i could go was a sprint aircard and i wanted to see how i could use that to connect the internet to a ps3

You will need a second Wireless LAN Card or USB Wireless device for the P3, then install all SW for the devices, set BOTH computers to have the same workgroup name (Rt click My Computer, Properties, Computer Name, Change) then reboot both boxes.

Log onto the Aircard box
Goto to Start, Settings, Networks and Settings
Double click Aircard
Click Properties
Click Advanced tab at the top
Click Allow other to share
Click settings
Pick your poison
Add any extra you need
Click OK 2x

Goto start, Run and type cmd
type ipconfig /all
write down settings

Goto P3
goto Start, Settings, Networks and...
Double click the WLan icon
click properties
On the top scrollbar find TCP/IP and highlight it
click properties
change IP to Use this IP and set to same as Aircard +1
Massk is same
Gateway is same
DNS is same. If no DNS make this PC same as Aircard IP

Goto start, Run and type cmd
type ipconfig /all
write down settings

Type PING www.xxx.yyy.xxx (IP of Aircard to see if P3 can SEE it
if OK, then open Browser and come to this site ;-)
If not OK (Ping timeout)....

go back to Aircard PC
Click Start, Settings, Networks and Settings
Right click Aircard
Click Properties
Click Advanced Settings
write down all these

WLAN protocol: 802.11a,b,c,g....
Channel
SSID
Encryption type (changge if P3 does not support)
Password (copy to .txt file and save to memstick or floppy)

Go back to P3 and do same
Then click scan for hosts
find your Aircard name
Click connect
copy/paste ot type in Password from Stick or floppy

try open browser again
Easy!

Sierra Wireless AirCard 595U And PS3

I understand that you want to connect the PS3 using the Wireless card and NETGEAR card. Please note that the setup you have will not work for internet access. You can not configure the Air card to work with NETGEAR router. you need to have wih a broadband connection available for this router to connect to internet.

Once you have the router configured with Internet access then you may either connect the PS3 wired or wireless to the router, like you connect a desktop or laptop to the router.
