It would be on the remote control for the tv, under the source button, and you need to select the source from your xbox input on the tv. I think this is what you wanted to know...

How can I change source resolution?

The source resolution is determined by your choice of connected video device. For example; If you are using the RCA jack cord that comes with every PS3, then your resolution will be very low, and you can't change it. If you are using the HDMI connection to a HD TV, then the system automatically selects the correct resolution ratio for the TV. (720-1080p) Also note, that going between watching a video, or blueray movie, and a game, most games have the ability to change the resolution automatically as well. An example of this, is watching NETFLIX. The system can detect 720p, then you begin to play a game (COD AW) it detects and changes to 1080p.

How to set display to 1080p on Hisense F42K20E?

You don't. The TV has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels; so it's already 1080p. The number of pixels can't be changed.

What you're probably getting mixed up with is the TV showing the resolution of the incoming signal when you change channels or go to a different source. Standard definition from cable might be flagged as 480i. DVD might show either as 480i, or 480p, or maybe 720p or 1080i or 1080p if you have a scaling DVD player and set it appropriately. HDTV on cable or satellite will show as 1080i or possibly 720p. Blu-rays and PS3/XBox 360 or PS4/Xbox One should show as 1080p when your TV is connected.

Whatever the source signal resolution, the TV will scale it up to fill the panel area of 1920x1080 pixels. So the TV is always using all the pixels, regardless of the resolution of the source signal.

Make sure the display resolution is set correct for your TV,

Also make sure the TV is on and set to the correct HDMI input before using the Blu Ray.
It is also possible the TV does not support HDCP, if not, it will not work with the XBOX one Blu Ray. You may be able to use the Component (Red Green and Blue) cable though.

The resolution that the Xbox is pushing out is most likely too much for the TV, and it switches off because it can't physically display the signal.
Try hooking the xbox to another TV (if you have one) and setting the resolution to something in the neighborhood of 420p so that you can see the screen. After you do this, take it back to your TV and switch it slowly up in resolution until it blinks out. When it blinks out, you know that the resolution is too much.

Change it back to the next lowest resolution and play away.

Why is my tv flickering and how do i stop it

Before you go to drastic measures and since the TV section is fine I would check to see if the Xbox display format is set compatible with your source input. In another words make sure the resolution is set correctly or at least play around with that setting for the xbox input on the display. Just like the same thing on a computer screen if the refresh rate is set too low or the resolution is not set correctly the display will give you problems. Flat panels these days are nothing more than digital display panels being fed with TV or other signals. Therefore there are some common terms with that of a computer display.
You might also try a different input on the TV as that input may have a different setting on the display.

When I play a gane the sides of the screen cut off

If you have a widescreen TV, your resolution is likely the cause of this. See if your TV has a resolution setting in its menu. Don't worry if it doesn't, some TV's only have one default resolution.

Check what type of cable you are using to connect to the TV. If you are using composite cables (red, white, and yellow) and you have a flatscreen/HDTV, you should switch to component or HDMI cables. (Your Xbox may have came with component cables. They are the red, green, and blue ones, if it did and you aren't using them, use them.)

Once you're using component or HDMI, the problem should be solved. If it is not, change the resolution on the Xbox. To do this, go to System Settings > Console Settings > Display and mess around with the settings in that to find out what works for your TV.

I want to change from 480 resolutions to 720 resolutions using my remote control

Unfortunately the television autodetects resolution and cannot be changed from the remote. The television will need a 720 signal coming in, in order to display in 720 (like an HD source, such as a PS3, XBOX, Blu-ray player, HD Cable, etc..)
Hopefully this clarifies things.
Thank you.
