Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: JVC boombox RV-NB 1 stopped working

Its the fuse (1.25A 250V slow blow) remove 12 allen screws on side panels, six each side (the very top and bottom allens are
for comestics) remove the woofer screws (just the two of the four)
that are facing the front panel.remove the 12 screws in the rear panel. 6 along the top, 4 along the bottom, 2 in the middle.
go to Radio Shack, Get a 2A 250V slow blow fuse (they dont have a 1.25A) Part# 270-1064 (4-pk about $3.00) reinstall & ROCK !!!!

SOURCE: JVC RV-B90 Boombox,How many watts

If you can believe what they say about the specs...

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

http://www.retrevo.com/support/JVC-RV-B90GYJ-manual/id/316ag201/t/2/

Bear in mind the power spec is at >>>> 10% <<<< THD without any bandwidht specified. THAT's a lot of distortion stated in a meaningless fashion to convince you to part with the money.

If one looks at the power CONSUMPTION figure (43 watts), one can conclude that the audio power spec is totally fabricated. NO device puts out more power than it consumes.

That is not to say it won't sound good and loud in certain settings and conditions, but this is not, say, a Bose Acoustic Wave Music System. After a certain volume demand it will just be annoying instead of entertaining. That's why they called this class of product a Ghetto Blaster.

I see one sold for $70 last year...

SOURCE: Problem with the JVC RV-NB50Radio

Hi stigjdk,

Please unplug the unit for 10 minutes and confirm that the USB Flash Drive is formatted in FAT16 or FAT32 then repeat the update procedure.

1) Download the firmware here and save it to your PC Desktop.

2) Insert a USB Flash Drive into your PC and format in FAT16 or FAT32.

3) Unzip and open the Downloaded file. Copy and Paste the file "host.h16" to USB Drive folder.

4) Turn off the RV-NB50 and insert the USB Flash Drive in the USB port on the front of the RV-NB50.

5) While the unit is OFF, press [9], [1], [4] on the remote control.

6) RV-NB unit will turn on automatically, and "HELLO" and "MCU UPGR" will appear on the clock display.

7) While updating the software, the clock display will be blank. Please wait about 2 minutes and DO NOT TURN OFF (or pull out USB Flash Drive) during updating.

8) The clock display will appear when the update is
complete.

9) Gently remove the USB Flash Drive

10) Done

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: My JVC rv-dp100 Kaboom boombox always has the radio or static from the radio playing. When I try to use the cd player, I hear both at the same time and cant stop it. Please help!

The fault is with its input selection circuit. Seek tech support. Might be an IC fault.

My JVC RV-NB20B makes a loud humming noise sometimes when it's first switched on or if accidentally knocked. I'm guessing something is loose inside as it is an intemittent problem, but what..?

sounds to me like a faulty installation. Someone used elictrical tape instead of wire connectors. One or more of your speaker wires is rubbing a hotwire, or your hotwire to frame if radio type "two wires together" type thing.

I get very loud feed back when i put my jvc rv-b55 on. The speakers move violently backwards and forwards. Fault appeared out of nowhere. any ideas anyone many thanks

Could be down to some faulty capacitors on the Output or Input side, these can sometimes go open and cause voltage spikes which would explain why the speakers are moving strongly in and out. Id see about getting the capacitors changed on the audio board, or see if any of them are buldged. The capacitors look like small cans and can be either blue or orange with a black stripe down one side.

Ac/dc plug doesnt energize boombox. What should I

Hi,
several days ago I get my blaster from ebay (don't like that new version in girlie size, is there a pink hello-kitty version out now?).
The first thing on my macho man machine I repaired was the bulb for the display. Also I modified some internal wiring as of the weak 12V DC connector. Inside there are two fuses, one 8AT for the transformer and one 6.3AT for 12/15 VDC. Probably on your machine this fuse is imply blown off. To unmount the front and rear part of the assembly you need a pretty long slim screwdriver for two deep buried screws. I made it by my own (**** blade, works well for that slow-torque screws) of a slim rod. Also remove the bass speaker covers with Allen key nr 4. Two of the screws on each side are dummy screws. Also remove two of four screws of each bass speaker and loose the others.

Greetings from germany, df4ian (eat) gmx.net

Jvc rv-b99 cassette door jammed

You need to take the unit apart. If you pull hard to open the door, you`ll break the plastic connector that moves the head up and down.
