SOURCE: shelf cds is blocked SONY CMT-HP7

To get the cds to play, and 5 to eject, you can try taking off the sides of the consul and using compressed air. As for the shelf problem, I'm not really sure.

SOURCE: sony cmt-hp7 - broken

The unit will attempt an internal reset to start from a known position. If you are hearing mechanical noises, the unit is out of sequence and must be rebuilt. These are not the most straightforward units. If any portion of hte system fails the "startup" sequence, the entire unit will stop. Unfortunately, this may need to see a servicer.

SOURCE: CD Stabilizer

Here's the user manual which may help some folks:
http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/3860292141.pdf

Got my unit at a yard sale for 5 bucks. What a great sound!!!

The note on the CD lid referred to a stabiliser, but there wasn't one. The CD started skipping and making a whining noise.

Eventually found the manual and saw that the stabiliser was just a capto weigh the disc down so I put another CD on top of the one I wasplaying to add a little weight and it seems to be playing well. GoodLuck to you all.

SOURCE: System doesn't read CD

You can try cleaning the laser lens with rubbing alcohol and cotton swab. If cleaning does not work, the laser lens unit will have to be replaced.

It could be 3 things.
1. the Laser carrier may be stuck and may need to be gently pried from centre to outskirt and back.
2. your cd spinning motor has gone and needs to be replaced,
3. your laser carrier motor has gone and needs to be replaced,
hope it helps.

I am trying to locate speaker connectors for the back of the Sony CMT-CP505MD system - any suggestions? Thank you

Hi,
Yes please gogto www.BogueEngineering.com
and you will find the special proprietary connectors for your system. All the big companies like Sony and Samsung will charge way too much for the cables and they only work with some systems but Bogue Engineering connectors and cables are universal so they work with all the systems at a fraction of the cost. Hope that helps! Thanks, Gary

CMT-EH10 CD player does not recognize any disks

try a cleaning if that does not work then if the unit has been dropped laser could have been knocked out of alignment or has reached the end of it's lifetime. You didn't tell me how old the unit was I've had CD players
that only lasted as little as 11 months and the reader go bad. anyway try the cleaning first and if that don't work
I would look for another unit.
