if plumbed in under the sink, check the spigot the drain hose goes to is not blocked - a common problem. if on drain you should be able to hear the drain pump working. if you hear a faint humming noise instead, then there is probably a foreign object stuck in pump. also check for blockage in the drain hose

SOURCE: Food Odor
No matter how well you rinse wares, some food particles will always go into the machine. Sometimes these particles can build up and lead to what you describe. I would start by inpecting the wash tub area; remove screens, remove wash arms and clean as needed. You are looking for any residual food soil which would harbor bacteria. If all else fails, follow your nose!
Once everything is as clean as you can make it, then purchase a product for cleaning/deliming your machine. One I know of is called "Dishwasher Magic" which should be available at most appliance repair stores. Run this through the machine on a long or heavy cycle. Once complete, run a second cycle with nothing but water to rinse any lingering chemistry.
Lastly, for a 3rd (and final) cycle, add a cup of bleach to kill off any remaining odor-causing bacteria. But, DO NOT SKIP THE RINSE CYCLE mentioned above.
This should take care of the problem,

check the drain pump at the button of the dishwaher.
its not a big job, but it is a pain to take it out.
once you have it out, take a look of the bland on the motor, make sure they are all there, missing bland will cause the water to bunce back and nto drain completely. take a look of the motor, it should turn freely. the pump is oneway. make sure nothing else is broken from the pump and the outlet.
if all failed, replace the pump.

Kindly check for the following :
Check for hose kinks or food plugging drain hose. Start at the drain port exit.
Check the check valve and drain hose for debris.
Check pump motor for reversing during the pump out make sure the dishwasher is pausing between the wash and drain cycles letting the pump/motor reverse for the drain cycle.
Check pump motor assembly for a drain solenoid, during the pump out make sure the solenoid makes that distinctive "clunk" noise
If you have recently installed a new garbage disposal, check knock-out plug at connection.
Check pump impeller for damage.
Check that the water inlet valve isn't seeping fresh water into the dishwasher when off.
Please contact for any further clarifications.
A Fixya Rating would be appreciated if.

Thank you for your inquiry, friend!
I see that you need assistance in draining the remaining water out of your Frigidaire dishwasher. It is normal for a little water to remain inside of your dishwasher. If it is more than two or three inches it could be a draining issue. I would check to make sure the drain hose is not clogged or restricted. You should also review the filter, which you can find under the bottom rack, to make sure that it is not clogged. If you have reviewed these steps and water still remains it could be a possible issue with your drain pump. I recommend having a professional technician out to perform repairs because this will require you to uninstall and disassemble your dishwasher. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt
