How do you open the sewing head to change bulb on Pfaff 955 hobbymatic

To access the light bulb, use the button-hole foot to lift up the insert on the arm cover. Remove the cover. Hold the edge guide slightly tilted and push it into the opening in the head of the sewing machine. Press down on the lamp housing to hold it still. Push up on the bulb and turn it counter-clockwise. Once the bulb is loose, pull it down and out of the lamp housing. To replace the bulb, continue to hold the lamp housing. Push the new bulb into the housing and rotate it clockwise. Release the lamp housing and then use the button-hole foot to replace the cover.

Pfaff has the manuals for most of their machines here: http://www.pfaff.com/en-US/Support-and-Updates/Support . The Hobbymatic 955 support page is http://www.pfaff.com/en-US/Support/3529 . The direct link to the manual is http://www.pfaff.com/SiteMedia/PFAFF/Products/Machines/Support-manuals/Pfaff_935_955_HobbyMATIC-manual-EN-FR-DE-NL.PDF . See page 51 (page 59 of the PDF) for the directions to change the light bulb, These pictures may help you see how to get to the bulb. If you need a replacement button-hole foot, see http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/buttonhole-foot-low-shank-new-1932l.aspx .

I hope this helps.

Husqvarna sewing machine needs new lamp cover

The machine will work just fine without a lamp cover. However, if you want one, see your Authorized Viking Dealer and they should be able to order you one. You can find your nearest Authorized Dealer by going to the Viking website - http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/us and clocking on 'Locate a Dealer' link

No feed dog cover can't find. like free motion

Set the stitch length to 0. That will keep the feed dogs from moving. Drop the feed dogs, if possible, and if not, cover them with a thin piece of plastic with a hole punched out for the needle to go through. Something like the plastic that supports raw bacon strips or an old credit card will work. Tape the plastic down all around and you'll be good to go.

I have a reader-writer box for a Viking Rose machine that is missing the dongle. Is there any place I could get just the dongle?

The dongle is only available with the software when you buy it. The dongle alone doesn't run the reader/writer box. The dongle is the code key for the software that allows you to send designs to the reader/writer. So purchasing new software (which also gets you the new dongle) is what you'll need to do if you want to send designs to the programmable card. Another issue you may have is that the older reader /writer box that uses a parallel port hook up, doesn't work with the new software. So if you have an old reader /writer, you'll also need a new usb reader / writer box. The new reader / writer also comes with a new programmable card.

Dont know what model my consew is

I ask this same question of a man trying to sell me an old Pfaff that was made without reverse. He told me I only need reverse to knot the thread at the end of a seam. All I had to do was hold the fabric a little tighter than the presser foot does and the needle would stay in the same spot and the thread would pass through itself as many times as you think you need.
I have not tried it yet but if you just let the needle sew past the end of the fabric a half inch or so you should get a line of knots
The end of the seem you are making will always be covered by the next piece of fabric your adding to what ever your making.
Or a trimming of some kind, or as in upholstery held in place with staples and then always covered.

Your not going to leave a raw edge any where ! right?
