There is a wire that has to be connected to the reverse switch on the transmission shifter. If this is not hooked up right you will have this problem.

If I hooked up an after market stereo could it be possible that it's drawing from the battery constantly?

No, the stereo has an ON/OFF switch. If you connect the power for the stereo on the ignition side of the fuse box when you turn off the ignition switch/key hen power will be automatically cut off to the stereo even if you leave the switch on at the stereo.

Hi-changed over my car stereo out of my hyundai coupe 04 today but now the new stereo will not switch on automatically when power to unit-resulting in cd etc starting from begining again-i removed a...

you more than likely have the red/yellow wire (coming out from the back of the radio) reversed. the orange wire is usually for the dimmer feature and is not necessary to hook up. The red wire needs to be hooked to an accessory wire (i.e. send power when you turn the car on and goes to ground when the cars off) and the yellow wires needs a constant power source (i.e. always on from the battery) the yellow wire lets the radio retain memory.

Home theater hooked up volume sounds low

Check your different settings either in your t.v. or your amp. In your menu settings you can change your audio. Bass trebile etc. and even sometimes switching it from stereo, mono, dolby digital will increase your volume. Dolby digital is very quiet if your not running and exteranal amp system. so try changing it to stereo and your volume should increase.

My subwoofer drained the battery to the car over night

I am not sure how you have it hooked up, but the amp should be connected with heavy gauge wire to a relay that goes straight to the battery for the best current flow. The coil of the relay can be connected to the power output wire of the stereo (usually blue) or to a switched circuit. When the ignition is switched on or the stereo is turned on (depending on which you have it connected to) the power to the relay coil will connect the power from the battery to the amp. When you turn off the stereo or ignition, the power to the relay coil goes off and the spring breaks the circuit at the contactor. You can buy a relay at any auto parts place. Make sure you ground the amp near where the stereo is grounded or you will get a whine in the stereo from a "ground loop". Please don't forget to rate this solution.

The only way to get sound from sat system to your stereo is to run a red and white cable from the sat box to the stereo. Once you hook it up you have to put the stereo on that input and if I am not mistaken I think there is only one set of red and white plugs on back of your stereo.
