Try to connect a ethernet cable into the computer, to give it a solid internet connection.
if you can't, use a computer that has internet. you may need to download the drivers with the "other" computer and install it on This computer.

If you have the My Computer icon, right click on it, and click Manage. Click Devices, and you should see a bunch of devices, one being your network adapter. If you connected the internet to your computer, you can double click on your network adapter in this list, and search for the drivers. It should say Update Drivers, or Look online for drivers.
If you didn't connect it online, than copy the driver names, and search for them on the Other computer. Download them, copy them with a usb or cd drive, and install them.
restart your computer.

hope this helps!

Yellow marks on ethernet controller

Download the LAN driver for your model computer if it is a built-in network adapter.
You can download the drivers from ASUS WEB site. Selectyour model motherboard/computer/laptop, and make sure you select the Windows XPor Vista version of the drivers that matches your Windows operating system. Please click on this link to their WEB support site : - http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

I can't find network adapter but it is installed

If you cannot find the network adapter, the system does not have the appropriate driver for the device. You probably have a yellow icon in the other category which indicates the system does not know what the device is. I understand that the device is plugged into the computer.

Check with your device supplier for the appropriate drivers and support software to solve the problems.

I do not see any wireless icon in the network connection...i dont know what to do...please help me....

First go to the control panel > device manager (In XP the manager is in the System folder). Scroll down to network adapters, open it and look at the adapters listed....there should be two, one should be an ethernet card and the other a wireless or WLAN card. Look to see if there are yellow icons by their names. This usualy indicates a problem with either the card or the drivers running them. If they do not have yellow trouble symbols by them, then make sure the wireless switch is turned on either by switch on the outside of the laptop or by an Fn key combination. In the case of your laptop, the switches were optional, but just in case look on the front edge of your laptop, by the audio jacks on the left side should be your wlan switch, make sure it is in the "on" position. If there are yellow icons by the wireless, try right clicking on the adapter and uninstalling it. Then reboot, make sure you are connected to the internet via ethernet cable, you will want to let windows search windows update for a new driver when it reinstalls the device upon rebooting. See if that takes care of the problem. Also, if you have changed the way your system boots like say "selective startup" through the msconfig command, that may need to be temp. changed until this is cleared up, then you can go back to it.

Wifi connectivity problem

It's possible that the driver for your wireless adapter is already installed. Check under Device Manager > Network Adapters if there is anything pertaining to your wireless adapter. Make sure that your wireless adapter (under Device manager > Network adapters) does not have any red X or yellow question mark.

Red X indicated that it's disabled , while yellow question mark will suggest that you need to update the driver. If your wireless adapter is working properly under Device Manager > Network adapters then you will need to configure it's utility for wireless connection.

If you are running windows XP, look for the wireless icon in the lower right side of your task bar and use it to connect to your preferred network.

Good luck and have a nice day!
